Yes, Anchorman. One of the funniest NEW movies I've seen in a very long time.
Most already know the story - it's Will Ferrell as a sexist and idiotic news anchorman - Ron Burgundy - in the '60s/'70s, with cohorts Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Steve Carrell (the Daily Show). Their boss is the cinematic genius Fred Willard (The Chris Guest movies).
All is fine until Willard hires a new reporter, FEMALE, to bring diversity to the network, with Christina Applegate. Needless to say, Ferrell and crew are pissed off.
Now that the story is set, this is an inredibly funny movie. Probably the best performance Ferrell has ever given. It's just all so great. And the best and most inventive cameos ever, I'd say. You'll be pissing your pants during the street brawl.
So go watch it.

Just saw it tonight. It's been awhile since I shit myself in public due to a comedy. Pure entertainment. So much talent has contributed to this movie I have no reservations in praising its merits.

i just saw it, starts off a little slow till it hits its rythm or lack of very funny movie....
I happened to be drinking a coke during the erection scene, and I almost spewed all over the couple sitting below me laughing so hard.

Steve Carell was the best part of this movie. Hands down.
Also, the fact that Tim Robbins was in the film after my friend and I had been making fun of the awful movie choices of "Academy Award-winner Tim Robbins" (i.e. - Howard the Duck and Mission to Mars) was absolutely perfect! I will see this film again...
I think Tim Robbins is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood, actually. He's done some duds(just like everyone, even Tom Hanks), but Shawshank Redemption, Mystic River, The Player, Jacob's Ladder, Bull Durham, The Hudsucker Proxy, Bob Roberts, Cradle Will Rock, Nothing To Lose, plus hilarious bit parts in comedies like Austin Powers 2, High Fidelity, and now this(ha, and "Merlin" from Top Gun). Erik The Viking was probably one of his biggest flops at the boxoffice, but I thought it was great.
Drama, comedy, musicals, Tim Robbins really does it all. He was very deserving of the Oscar, in my opinion, and he didn't use his speech to push his political leanings, like everyone unfairly blasted him for doing before the fact.
He WAS really good in Mystic River.
I completely agree (I loved him in both Shawshank and Mystic River and thought he deserved the Oscar as well)... but I just thought it was hysterical that after I'd been making fun of him all day (something I do with even the actors I like... 'cuz hey - I'm a jerk!), he had a cameo in that film! I mean, c'mon! IRONY!
Ironically enough, I myself had a massive erection during the massive erection scene.
Pat and I saw this on Sunday . . . and the beginning started out quite slow . . . and then kinda picked up a bit . . . then hit a spot where I sat in my seat and thought, "Where's the funny? Why am I not laughing?"
It didn't get better until Ron & Veronica started fighting.
And the best part of the whole damn movie: "Would you like to come to my pants party?"

this movie was a whole lotta kick ass. punting dogs is aweshome, retarded weathermen is all the rage, but uniting your news superteam via a conch shell call is the ultimate.
dvd purchase, day one.
i cant wait for the dvd, this is one of those movies where you know youll see jokes on 2nd and 3rd viewings you missed the 1st time....
plus boat loads of deleted scenes are more out takes!
I finally saw this yesterday. Wasn't really impressed. I guess you have to be a fan of Will Ferrell to really like this movie. the erection scene was funny so were some other parts but the comment about the weatherman at the end really pissed me off.
