The FF in costume can be seenhere.

Harry had a bitch over at Aint it Cool, but they looked alright to me.

I'm sure Johnny not being blonde will piss some people off (and I guess it wouldn't have been hard to do) but it's the kind of detail that's never bothered me.

Thoughts?

not too shabby, not too shabby at all.

looking kinda nice.

And I agree, some people probably will bitch over Johnny not being blonde. It's a detail, and a minor one at that. doesn't bother me!

Oh yeah, it's at the bottom of the page. Whoops.

They look all right to me. Especially the plunging neckline on Jessica Alba's costume, and the interesting texture of the Ben Grimm costume.
Posted By: Stupid Doog Re: Fantastic Four Costumes - 2004-09-23 4:38 AM
I know it's just the lighting, but Jessica Alba's right eye looks like it's not real. It's a glass eye or something.

not that I wouldn't do her. its just the eye freaks me out.

I don't like Jessica Alba in that role, but it does make Reed look like a pedophile, just like in the comics.

Everyone else looks great, though.
Posted By: The Time Trust Re: Fantastic Four Costumes - 2004-09-23 9:24 AM
Whoever plays Sue Storm has to be in her early 20s in order to be right for the role, though, so Reed Richards is going to look like he's chasing jailbait, even though everything's really very legal and above-board. Johnny Storm looks a bit older than I expected him to look, on the other hand. He's supposed to be in his late teens when the team is formed.

Nothing's perfect...

Gloves are cool.

Although i'd have liked to see more white side hairs on Reed Richards and less Jeff Goldblum resemblances.

They look fine. Actually, kinda cool.

Johnny not being a blond? Well, it woulda been nice, but it's a minor detail.

Thing looks good.

But regarding Alba...any of you been following John Byrne's remarks about her look? He said any Latina with tinted or light hair made him think "hooker." Seems John's getting in a bit of hot water over it, and he's locked the thread down on his own site.

It’s like Byrne is really trying to build on his arsehole reputation at the moment.
Anyone of Mediterranean decent gonna drop any of his books in protest?
Anyone agree with him?

I don't think hooker automatically, but I don't think it's a good look necessarily, either....

I like how they modernize everything except her big-ass 60's hair.

Is anyone really even buying his books right now?

Funny. I've always pictured Sue in her late 20s-early 30s.

I've bought the 6 issues JLA arc introducing his new Doom Patrol, and the first 3 issues of said title. It's not a great read, but I love those old characters. I've promised to give him at least 2 storyarcs in this new series before deciding yea or nay.

The Sue of today, yes. The Sue of the 60s FF alwyas struck me as early to mid20s.

Right. That's what I was saying. Since this is the origin movie, we shouldn't be seeing the older, experienced, post-childbirth Sue Storm but the age she was at the beginning. Though by the same token I doubt she will be played as timidly as the Sue Storm character was back in the '60s -- in this updated version some details definitely need changing.

It depends on the story. This is a film adaptation, so it's very possible (and permissible, IMHO) that Sue be older than she was at the FF's comic book origin.

They should have gotten this guy to play the Thing:

Why's he trying to take a dump in front of those li'l soccer players?

His hair is so wooden looking I wonder how he manages to head the ball at all without it being impaled.

The casting of Jessica Alba still pisses me off.

The costumes look great.

The fact that Johnny's hair isn't blonde pisses me off immensely.

I don't get how the actor playing Johnny isn't blonde is not an issue for the studio but they HAVE to put fake grey in Reed's hair.
