No they aren’t available, but I have a cunning plan to make them available. I’m actually hoping someone has though of this before me though.

One of you bastards has to have the originals on laserdisc.

And another of you has to have a DVD writer.

Team up and put the bastard things on DVD will ya?

Then you can post it out to the rest of us and we can have the proper versions.

Anyone know if this has been done?

My grandfather used to have the laserdisk version. I don't know what happened to them though.
I think the originals will be on a future DVD release. There is such a demand for them and sooner or later Lucas will give in to the fans and their money.

I have the laserdiscs in that big mega black box set that was released years back.

Regardless, it'd probably be easier to find some guy on eBay or at a con to buy them off of than to go thru the trouble of conversion.

I actually started converting them once and quickly grew bored and gave it up.

Buy them on Ebay? Are you mad? Those puppies listed at $500 Canadien...I can't imagine what the secondary market value is on them.
