Giger, for all his talent, was a very strange guy.

I recall reading an article once that a former girlfriend of his had died, and he had been entrusted
by her with the funeral arrangements. He sent her body off to India or someplace, where carpet beetles
were used to clean the flesh off of her, and then after the bones were shipped back, Giger hung the
skeleton in his home.

Not the kind of guy you bring home to your parents.
Or trust with your remains.

GIGER'S ALIEN book, 12" X 12", in hc and tpb

Highly recommended, in roughly the same format as THE STUDIO (Jones, Kaluta, Wrightson, Windsor-Smith), and VIEWS (Roger Dean)

With great background material on Giger's concept drawings, and extensive photos and behind the scenes of building the movie sets.

Another art book worth looking at is Ron Cobb COLORVISION, who designed the earth ship and spacesuits. Cobb designed all the
earth technology, Giger designed all the alien technology. Cobb also did the designs for the first CONAN THE BARBARIAN movie
and several other films over the last 30 years.
