NASA Chief: Next Frontier Better Relations With Muslim World
  • NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his "foremost" mission as the head of America's space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world.

Though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA's orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel.

That's all we need. Jihad in space.

Seriously, what contribution could the Muslim world give to space exploration? Suicide rocket igniters? Zero-G prayer mat technology?

hummus in a tube and falafel sandwiches that won't make a mess in the zero-G environment of a spacecraft interior.

That has to be just about the dumbest thing I have ever read. Obama is a fucking idiot.

At least we couldn't smell them from that far away.

But then they'd be doing suicide rocket dives from the upper atmosphere onto Western cities.

on the bright side, hummus in a tube is a technological innovation that has been delayed far too long. also, space helmets that accommodate veils (for female astronauts) and beards (for male and female turkish astronauts) will make space travel easier for the modest and hirsute alike.

The hummus joke wasn't that good when you first made it. Repeating it is just whipping a dead horse.

hummus in a tube would also be a really good idea. I'm surprised no one's mentioned that before.

you know what would actually be really clever?

Mecca we have a problem?

They would be the people that would get the space taxi industry going.

Let's not forget that Obama, a few months ago, had the mission defense logo redesigned (seriously) to this:

Look familiar?

I tend to forget stupid paranoia stuff that fox news makes up. Thanks for reposting it.

Looks like the NASA chief is about to be thrown under that old, familiar, bus:
  • Bolden caused a global stir last week when he said President Obama had asked him to reach out to Muslim leaders on science issues. He made the comments during an interview with Al Jazeera while visiting Egypt.

But White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday, "That was not his task, and that's not the task of NASA."

Gibbs said White House officials have spoken to Bolden and NASA about the comments.

It took them over a week to issue a denial? That seems a little odd if, as Gibbs claimed, this was never Obama policy.

Okay. Now I get it. Obama's plan was to recruit suicide bombers to take out any
killer asteroids
