Wank, Bavaria Location Bavaria, Germany is a German mountain close to the Austrian border in the southwestern Estergebirge range near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The peak is 1780 metres above mean sea level.Mount Wank has been linked to Garmisch-Partenkirchen by cable car since 1928.In 1982 the lift was upgraded into a modern rotary cable car system. The ride takes 20 minutes from the valley to a mountain station close to the peak (valley station 728m, mountain station 1742m).
