pretty hot rumor going around, and the first thing I've seen from "DCnu" that I might actually be interested in.

pretty hot indeed!
James Robinson has proven something to me: he can't write the JLA or Superman. He has also proven he can write just about any JSA character.

I don't understand the distinction in his head, but it works.
I've been reading the Starman HCs recently and was thinking the same thing. The Sandman Mystery Theatre crossover was pretty cool.

 Quote:

This weekend at Fan Expo Canada, Dan DiDio confirmed an ongoing rumor: James Robinson and Nicola Scott are working on a new Justice Society of America book -- that takes place on Earth-Two. DiDio said he and Robinson were "hammering out the characters as late as yesterday," implying it might take a few months for the book to hit stores.

What makes this news so unexpected is the repeated assertions that, in the DC Universe of the New 52, Superman and the Justice League were the first publicly-recognized superheroes. Traditionally, the Justice Society was formed during World War II, and provided the heroic example that the founding members of the Justice League later emulated. As a result of a desire to restore Superman to his traditional status as the world's first superhero, they seem to have been written out of the continuity of Earth-Zero, where the majority of DC's stories take place.

So, how is DC getting around this?

Simple: they're setting the series on Earth-2, where they traditionally lived prior to their mash-up with the main DC Universe in Crisis on Infinite Earths. It's unclear whether this will be a continuation of the original Earth-2, a continuation of the post-52 version Geoff Johns established in Justice Society of America with its own Superman and Batman, or a brand-new iteration caused by the reality-altering conclusion of Flashpoint.

SoM,who is the blonde babe next to you?
yeah, Earth 2's a pretty big buzzkill. Fuck DC.
I think they should all be on different Earths, and crossover as little as possible. Or, you know what, leave crossovers to Marvel.
As convoluted as the JSA's place in DCU history had become and the reaching for explanations why some of those guys were still alive, a return of Earth 2 is probably best. Now, if they'll reinstate the Earth 2 Superman and Batman histories with it, could be cool.
no, Earth 2 is never best.
I'll make a bet that when this book comes out (after all the newness of the other 52 books is over)that it is in the top 3 DC sellers. Justice League and Green lantern may sell more or maybe a Bat book, but I bet that every older DC fan latches onto this book like it's gold.
I don't know about that. I'm an "older DC fan" and at this point I'm sick to death of the JSA and Earth 2.
