So Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire are re-re-reuniting for a comic called Justice League 3000 that's exactly what it sounds like. Giffen said in a Newsarama interview (http://google.com "giffen jl 3000 interview") that there's some sort of twist to the book and that when we first see it we're gonna be like "oh, this again" but it's actually cool.

Judging by the mean looking Howard Porter character designs, I'm guessing the twist is that the JLA is evil in the future, so it's gonna be like Thunderbolts but with more bwa-ha-ha. I'll check it out.

Giffen in the itnerview was so obtuse, that I gave up on trying to work out what it's going to be about. I suspect he doesn't have much idea right now, either.

So DC hires Giffen, DeMatteis and Maguire to do a book, then looks at said book and is shocked to see it isn't the "dark and gritty" comic you'd obviously expect when you get those guys. They fired Maguire: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/08/09/a...-maguire-talks/

Next they'll fire DeMatteis when they realize his dialogue is funny. "Just do what you did on Watchmen, man!"

OTOH, DeMatteis is also the guy who wrote Kreven's Last Hunt, so it isn't like he's always got to bring the funny.

It sounds to me like DC hired the guys and didn't properly explain what kind of book they wanted.

that's dumb.

Really liking that GL look, incidentally.
