Oh, well, hey, don't wait on me. My stuff can come in at any given point. I'll probably just write it sometime this weekend. That way, with everyone out doing one of the two missions, I have the room to write him a bit BEFORE the character interaction begins. And, honestly, I don't want this new guy going off on a mission/assignment/job until the new story. I'd rather just start clean with Issue #14. :)

If someone wonders what's behind the "MXY turning blind", it's just an homage to an old tale at the Yahoo MBL of many years ago. It was such a strange thing that I felt it had to be retold.

Just: don't kill Euro or permanently damage him (he can't regrow a limb or something like that); don't destroy Ladnikia. And don't "exorcise him" It's not yet time. But you can beat him very hard, Euro at this point is merciless, sneaky and devious, but not really smart.

About Mxy, I tried (probably I was not able to)to say that the blind factor, for a 5th dimensional being, is much more what can be for us. Don't dismiss it, instead work on it to show how it is unbearable for him.

I am enjoing this story a lot. Great work by everyone, really.

I had no intentions of that. My "no holding back" remark was in reference to the EPS HQ now sitting in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I hope everyone can swim. [wink]

I was going to let you expound on the Vengeance/Raptor fight. I had written a little bit more of and segway into it, but found that you had just posted before me. So I went back and edited it all out except for the last line. I thought it was too dramatic to not have it.

I wasn't. I was trying to show how much it did affect him, but he couldn't really describe the real force of it to Mick. And Mick just couldn't understand how Mxy could be controled like that. It was basic miscommunication and inability to understand on both of their parts.

Plus, Mick's back in control now. So whether that means he is blind or not remains to be seen. (Hehe! A pun.)

It's going along well, storywise. I just think everyone's schedule has really slowed it down. Let's also look at the fact that we have only 5 pages of story but are on talk thread #3. [izzat so?]

Wow. Another of the old guard returns. Make yerself at home, HG, the FAQ section's at the top for quick referencing. Find a story and post away! Hero Revolution universe is completely new, Penultimate MBL works like Ultimate Marvel, JLR's a whole separate group, and Heroes and Legends is more of Pro's wanking. [nyah hah] [wink]

Loved Dirk Bell leading a lot.

Yes, Templar will need to join them (later, he has not an UFO engine), but Dirk's doing was perfect.

It's the perfect start for this little story.

Yeah, I must admit I liked the way Dirk was written -- completely in character for him to say and do exactly what he did, being protective of his group as usual -- even though I wanted Templar along. Templar probably has his own means of transport, though, so it's not much of a problem.

I honestly couldn't find a single reason for anyone on the team to let him come along. It seemed really out of character for any of them to let a client go on a mission. Even Miss Xiang. From a business prospective, it was a very costly decision. If anything happened to him, the company would be responsible. It's just bad business. Not to mention the situation that it puts the team itself in. I feel the team has become more professional over the last few issues, and that needed to be addressed.

And I didn't see anything that said he had to come along for Vanguard to get paid. I doubt they'd accept such a stipulation.

That a good point, Doc. On the other hand, Templar is the one that know the thing.

You adressed it saying that Tayden is the expert of old stuff, it's another good point, but in fact could he really know about all antiquities?

In any case, I think we have not to worry. Maybe Xiang accepted him because he would pay more to be brought along, and maybe he signed an agreement about any otential problem not be issued to the company; and Dirk acted the right way leaving him behind, to protect the team and have less things to care about once in the foreign land.

And it's the only way we can get you to write anything? [nyah hah] [wink]

I think this could lead into becoming the same problem that we created with Kit. Xiang runs the paper side of the company. She watches the money flow, invests, and maybe even does the advertising (we need a commercial with a cool theme [cool] [biiiig grin] [wink] ); but she does not dictate the team's actions. That is still left in the hands of the group itself. We need to make sure that we don't repeat the same mistakes we did with Kit with Xiang.

That being said, I still couldn't think of a reason for the Vanguardians to risk Templar coming along. I couldn't justify any of them making that decision.

Intelude added. New character introduced. Please leave him with Nuriko for right now. I don't want him interacting with the team until we begin a new story (or, whenever everyone finally gets back home). Thanks. :)
