does the sound quality of mp3s really suck, i mean even at 320kbs the sound blows. If i download something and i really like it, i go buy it. Not cause its the right thing to do, its cause mp3's sound like shit. There not nearly as loud as the CD. Compressed audio (thus far) blows!

There's obviously a big difference between a WAV and an MP3, I mean, the MP3 is heavily compressed. Bootleg collectors consider it a "lossy" format and only trade WAVs even if they're a bitch to download because of the sound integrity. It's just that I can't notice the difference.

I have a friend planning on going into music production (he's a graduate of Chilicothee [sp?], which is a pretty well respected sound engineering school) and he can tell me the difference between an MP3 and a WAV just by listening to a few seconds of it. The sound qualities are much different, WAV generally being considered (by those "in the know") as the preferred format.
