one of the more clever shows to have developed in recent years, the wonder years followed the evolution of kevin arnold, a youth growing up in the late 60s.

told in flashback format, the show gave a unique glimpse of kevin's "wonder years" during a period of time often referred to as the country's "wonder years."

the shows focus was rarely placed upon its time setting, but rather the troublesome dynamic found in the life of any teenager, living in a normal family with normal problems. earning respect at home and at school, learning to gain, then part, with a girlfriend, dealing with the battles of a best friend, etc.

for 6 seasons, the show left memorable impacts on those who watched it, featuring both comical and touching moments.

i never liked winnie too much, just cuz i always thought she was way too bitchy. i think she was like 10 years older than kevin in real life, too.

however, i did love that french class girl! the blonde chick, who later appeared on parker lewis can't lose.

Growing up, I remember people telling me how I looked like Fred Savage from the Wonder Years. Not much, but enough to make me hate him. It was easy enough as it was. Not to hate him, but not to like him. In his career, he had only two decent performances. One was in The Boy Who Could Fly, and the other was in the Princess Bride.

Wonder Years exposed a flaw that would become more apparent in Working and other stuff he did. As he got older, he would be forced to rely on actually acting, and he really wasn't that good.

The cast of the Wonder Years was forced to stay the same, but they had to introduce new people to make up for weakness in certain areas. The boring sidekick friendship between "Kevin" and "Paul", which, at times, seemed to be reduced to a jealous rivalry thing. That happens when you hang out with someone too long. I remember Ringo mentioning how the other guys basically treated each other like brothers. Love and hate. You can only take so much.

So, they added those card-playing friends. The short, annoying guy who seemed to be an idiot and a comic foil, the dumb, tall guy, and maybe there was a jock. I can't remember.

Stupid thing was adhering to Winnie as constant love interest, but course, that was TV show writing. Olivia D'Abo (however you spell it) was actually quite attractive. Weird though, having a sister with an English accent. "She's a hippie" "Oh, well that explains everything!" First time I saw David Schwimmer, and right then and there, I knew he was a whiney guy.

The voice of older Kevin (i.e. - the Narrator) was the robber from Home Alone that wasn't Joe Pesci, right?

Oh my gosh I freakin LOVE The wonder years! I have all of them on DVD...yeah a friend of mine *cough* burned them for me BUT STILL! Wow.....awesome, awesome stuff.

What else happened in that episode? The end is all I remember.

Ya know the girl that played Winnie Cooper wound up being a math major at UCLA?? I thought that was cool! She's workin on her MS in Mathematics too last I heard.

Yeah and Kevin said he was still there for Winnie six years later when she returned from studying six years overseas with his son on his shoulders. They never really say what happens to Kevin's mom or Karen. Paul went off to college and became something I don't really remember, but Paul wasn't really in the last half of TWY anyways!

There's a parade at the end, I remember that. The big sister is pregnant and the narrator tells us she'll have the baby. The mom becomes chairman of a board somewhere. Paul went to an Ivy League college but I don't know what he was teaching.
