will own, day one. ...again.

so many of those fucking episodes, on this volume alone, are amazing.

"robin's reckoning" best retelling of dick grayson's origin i can ever recall. the "ninja / samurai" shows, super fun -- i love all the flashbacks to bruce's training days.

"heart of steel" ruled. "mudslide" rocked. "if you're so smart..." revamped riddler. "i am the night" was the perfect 'vengeance-filled' batman everyone on the old dcmbs wanted.

"joker's wild," "harley and ivy," and especially "almost got 'im" ... so! much! aweshomeness!

its like every show!!!

i miss this cartoon

I just read that Superman has 3 episodes of 18 dedicated to the Last Son of Krypton movie though..which sucks because the DVD is available (and I own it). That bites. I suppose they had to figure out some weird math on the episodes though..rats...

Just my opinion, mind you, but I thought Superman was crap. At least, when comparing it to Batman: TAS. I mean, does everyone think that all Superman does is fight monsters and robots? I don't remember the name of the episode, but the one episode I liked was when it opened with Clark Kent's funeral. That was a real Superman episode. And it still couldn't hold a candle to Batman: TAS. They didn't put half the effort of Batman: TAS into anything when they went to WB Kids.

You have to admit, the more epic Darkseid Episodes were good.

Wow! Another Batman box set. I still haven't gotten thru the 1st one as I can't tear myself away from my Super-Friends one long enough to watch them.

There's something to be said about nostalgia. Those Cheesy Super-Friends Ep's. really do it for me.

It's OK to have the epic Darkseid story run through the show. They made it clear that they had a plan, and I'll give them that.

But, they basically turned Superman into just another kids cartoon.

The reason Batman: TAS is so good, and why it will hold up to the sands of time, and all that, is because of the approach they took when they made it. Each episode was what they called a mini-movie. Each episode was it's own story that told you a little something about Batman and the world he lives in. It was a combination of the style of animation, the brilliant script writing, and teh music, that made it what it is.

What does Superman have?

In 20 years from now, in 30 years from now, what will Superman have? Batman: TAS will still be the timeless classic it is today.

Superman, and the Batman/Superman Adventures will be just another kids cartoon of the time it was made in.

Just imagine, if you will, what Superman could have been, if the same people who made Batman: TAS had treated Superman: TAS with the same respect. If they had put the same effort into it. I don't even remember the music from Superman. From Batman, not only do I know his theme music, I know The Joker's theme music. And every villain has his own music. It's perfect.

What does Superman have?
