Actually no, neither the movie nor the book showed Fight Club in that sort of light. The story had actually shown how they succeeded through Tyler's methods without flaw in plan or ideal.
the entire purpose of Fight Club was to show WHY it worked. That's why it went over the male frustration of modern day life with so much volume.
