I don't know when the kate flashback took place. If it happened after her first one, she is wanted for murder and robbing a bank. That would be enough to scare her mother.
I'm kinda bored with her character now. I was interested at first, but I think they waited too long to reveal her past. That and I thought her acting was horrible last night.

Episode 1.23: Exodus, Part 1

The French woman -- Rousseau -- shocks the survivors by showing up with a dire warning about “the others.” Meanwhile, Michael and Jin ready the raft for sailing.

Also from TV guide:
In Part 1 of the two-part season finale, the day of the plane crash is recalled as Rousseau (Mira Furlan) shocks the survivors with a warning about "the others." Meanwhile, Jin and Michael wrap up preparations for the raft's maiden voyage.

I watched this last night...Kinda wish I'd caught the entire series. I miss out on a lot not tuning into television regularly.

I liked the moment with the kid giving his dog to that obviously troubled little bitch. And when it tried to follow him onto the raft.

That and the moment between the Japanese couple...really cute and emotional....and this is the first time I've encountered any of these characters.

Just as an FYI: that's the fist time he's truly spoken to her since the big reveal (that she spoke English) . . . so it was a long time coming in my book.

That just makes it even more sad...I think they are my favorite characters.

They are my favorite characters (and not just because they're Asian). Their few scenes that that go into their relationship and their feelings for each other have been great.

So, when he finally says more than a few words back to her in this newest episode I think I lost it. Hell, I sobbed.

When he "left her" at the caves to live on the beach and work on the raft I told a friend of mine, "I'm pretty sure he sees his work for her father as a failure and that he's being punished."

And what do you know . . . that's exactly what he says. But hey, at least he's got it off his chest and he knows that she doesn't care . . . it's all good . . . for now.

Until the raft hits the tsunami next week. You just know they had the 'big character moment' in advance of some tradgedy...to give it that much more impact.

I'm making a prediction on the hatch.

I think it used to be some kind of military virus testing facility. It would explain the sickness that the frog lady warned everyone about. I'm not sure if any of the viruses are still deadly or not.

What a disappointing episode.
We learn nothing about the hatch.
Walt gets kidnapped. One of dumbest things they've done all season.
The whole security system thing made no sense.
Locke is some kind of religious nut.

I have no expectations for next season at all.

I'm watching Jimmy Kimmel live and he has some cast members on tonight and they said the butt pirates that took Walt were the others from the island.

Hurley: It was kinda amusing to see him do his best to get to the airport so he could make it home in time for his mom's birthday. Very sweet. I knew Hurley would eventually see the numbers on the side of the hatch and flip out.

Charlie: I knew if Charlie didn't come across the downed drug plane at the end of the season, that he'd find it during the next season. I was really hoping that he could resist the temptation and leave one of the statues behind, but he gave in. Oh Charlie...

Jin and the weird guy in the bathroom: Okay, that totally freaked me out when the guy started speaking Korean. Poor Jin. His plan for escape was blown! But then, the crash happened. Now, I wonder . . . if they're ever rescued, what will he do about Sun's father?

Michael & Walt and The Others: After Danielle took Claire's baby and then told Sayid, "They said they were coming for the boy," I knew Walt was in trouble. Poor Michael. He and Walt are finally getting on great and then The Others come and take Walt away from him. And you know it has something to do with the weirdness/powers that Walt has.

Artz: Holy hell! What an opening sequence! I never expected someone to get blown, literally, to bits on this show. "Dude, you got a bit of Artz on you."

Claire and the baby: She finally names him! Aaron. Finally.

The Monster: Okay . . . I kinda felt let down with this. Yes, you can kinda see something coming down at Locke and then strike the ground next to him. I even rewound my tape and watched it in slow-motion (it's even blurrier that way). But you can't see much. And then, when the monster latches on to one of Locke's legs and is pulling him in . . . you can't see much either. But I have to say: What is up with the black smoke/vapors being there one minute and then gone the next? Is that part of The Monster too?

There's a rumor going around that Samuel L Jackson will play a character in season two. Its probably BS, but I would really like to see him.

Abrams has gotten big time stars on Alias, why not on Lost?

Comic-Con 2005: Lost DVD Details
New clips and information showcased at the event.

July 16, 2005 - At ABC's special Lost panel this morning at Comic-Con, producer Shawn Cassidy revealed some new details about the seven disc boxed set that is scheduled to be released September 6th. Over eight hours of bonus features are promised, including deleted scenes, featurettes, cast auditions, and audio commentary.

We got an opportunity to see a couple of the features during the panel, and they should please fans of the show. "Genesis of Lost" talks about how the series came together. Damon Lindelof and J.J. Abrams spend the lion's share of the time on camera revealing the near-magical way everything came together. Fast-tracked by ABC, the show was picked up on an outline alone, and the pilot was written in five days. This feature discusses the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the show's genesis.

The second feature, "Welcome to Oahu," showcases and explains the special effects used in the pilot's dramatic crash sequence. Unlike many other FX making-of sequences, this one talks as much to the actors involved as it does to those responsible for the effects. The result is a funny, intriguing look at one of the most amazing sequences of the first season.

Two deleted scenes were also shown at the panel. The first takes place between Sawyer (Josh Holloway) and Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) on the beach. Sawyer is smoking next to the plane and Charlie comments that it's dangerous. When Sawyer refuses, Charlie then asks for a smoke, and walks away once he gets it.

In the second scene, Sawyer and Kate are watching Locke, Jack and Sayid talking island politics. They compare the proceedings to C-SPAN and Sawyer asks why Kate isn't over. She responds, "I don't like C-SPAN."

The producers seem quite happy with the DVDs and extras offered. In addition to the features already discussed, tons of cast audition footage (pretty much the only cast member who didn't audition was Terry O'Quinn), and many hours of commentary. We'll bring you more details as we discover them.

i like lost! I thought the last episode was unbelievable!!! I didnt see any of that coming! Then again i dont make the best guesses......

I love that ABC is replaying all the episodes. You can catch so much more of the secrets and little hidden messages you missed the first time around. I think it's like when a person saw the sixth sense for the second time. it's like how did i miss that. Like the comic book walt reads..... it has a giant polar bear on it!!! CRAZY!!!

I liked all of it until the finale, thought it was one giant tease, nothing really happened other than Walt getting kidnapped.
But still a damn good show.

It just ended here yesterday. I've been avoiding this thread for months (boy, you people sure like spoiling stuff). When does the new season start in the US? I think I'm gonna have to download these bitches when they came out, I can't take the long wait.

When the "pirate" boat showed up, I thought the guys would be rescued, but then the rescuers would say "island? there's only water here", and it turns out they're near floating near Europe or something. So the guys get home but they can never find the island again (so we never see THEM again). I was a little disappointed they took Walt... doesn't he have powers? And how could the other three possibly save themselves? The raft blew up and they sailed for days.

In the episode where Boone talks on the radio with someone before falling, I think the other person said "we're ALSO from flight 815!". That, what the black lady said in an early episode about her husband being alive, and Michelle Rodrigues' not so subtle introduction, make it obvious there's another group of survivors in the island, which shoudl give the show a push once it gets stale (for that reason I hope they don't find them too soon).

Maybe I'm crazy, but in the sequence in the last episode where they show the characters before the plane took off (when Boone last appears), I think I saw that journalist guy from Alias. Other possible new characters could be the annoying couple who talk about Sun in the airport thinking she can't understand them. They could be like that rich old couple in Gilligan...

The sounds the "defense system" made mean there's definitely a technological element in the island. I think the second season is gonna explore that aspect a little more, be a little more far out (almost sci fi) than the first season.

My theory when the show started was that it was the ultimate reality show: a virtual reality show where the contestants don't know (or simply can't remember) they're competing. When they die they simply "wake up" and go home. Last one left alive wins. That's why Locke was "cured". His "the island did it" idea is simply him seeing the patterns every game (and TV show) implements from time to time to keep things interesting, and rationalizing it as religion. If this is right, he should be pretty pissed once he finds out it's ratings what control what happens on the island, not fate.

Anyway, now I'm not so sure about this theory. The goverment facility theory seems very likely, which is why I hope it's not real. The "purgatory" theory seems like typical "seeing more than what's there" internet theory.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall right.

just finished watching the season finale for the summer replay. and i am very much hooked on this show.

originally, i missed the first few episodes, and at that point, the stories were so evolved and involved that i didn't want to jump in at the middle, so i waited, hoping for a dvd release. then, this summer, when they announced they'd replay every episode, in hidef even, i was saved!

so i watched'em all... or, at least, all that they played. they skipped at least three episodes, which is an enormous pain in the ass.

great show. very addicting, very compelling. enough "what the fuck was that" moments to keep the series intense, but not so many that you hate it. like x-files, its just the opposite -- y'cant wait til they reveal more.

i'm all psyched up for season two now!

I just got back from Best Buy with the box set of Season 1. I'm going on word of mouth but frankly i've never seen this show nor does anyone I talk to. I'll probably watch a few of them tonight. Based on you guys saying so, I'm sure it'll be good.
