Uschi-

Well, that's just the story of my life. Thanks for taking a chance on Dr.
Radium. It's Science with Dr. Radium was my first ever comic series.
Currently, SLG publishing (www.slavelabor.com) is reprinting all of the
various Dr. Radium comics in three volumes. The 3rd and final volume is due
out next February.

I'm afraid I don't have any great advice about cool, unknown comics. I don't
read comics much these days. I like Dave Cooper, Chris Ware, and a lot of
folks with names I can never remember. A friend of mine has a website that
has lots of reviews of obscure and hard-to-find stuff at
http://poopsheet.blogspot.com/ so you might have some luck finding things
there.

Thanks for writing.

- Scott S.

Since it's being released in TPB form, I suggest you folks try out "It's Science With Dr.Radium!"

Dr.Radium is a Scientist. From the FUTURE! And lots of funy stuff happens... with science!

It's bad science but it's a good read.

There was an old Batman villain in the daily strips from the '30s called Professor Radium. He had been exposed to so much radium in his lab that (inexplicably) he became immune to it and began to emit it like rays from his body. As a result, everyone he touched would die. He eventually took to using his "gift" to end suffering around Gotham. Unfortunately, he was killed at the end of his first story, which is sad because I thought he was a fun character.

If I were to ever write a Batman story, I would bring back Prof. Radium. I like him that much.

I even wrote a character in the old TOMB stories called "Prof. Radium" which was almost an exact ripoff, but no one noticed because no one had ever heard of the character.

All that to say this - Scott Saavedra stole the idea of the name Dr. Radium from Bob Kane! Boo-yah!

It's not as if Bob Kane invented radium, or even coined the name, though.
