Lettermans still good, Craig Fergosen is better than Kilborn, but thats not saying much.
Their news department is a joke.
Every show they have is a copy of another show.
CSI-CSI Miami-CSI New York-Cold Case-Numbers. All the same crappy shows made by Jerry Bruckheimer.
Everybody Loves Raymond sucks ass. Its a dysfunctional family insulting each other. Whats funny about that? I've probably watched it ten times and never laughed. All their other comedies are just as bad.
JAG sucked ten years ago when it was on another network. Navy CIS is a bad copy of it.

Did I miss anything?

You forgot the onslaught of crappy (and in the case of Amazing Race, distasteful; the one guy beat his wife!) reality shows.

Yes, Dear and King of Queens have their moments. That's about all that CBS has going for them...

I did forget those.
Survivor.
I tried watching this once and was bored to tears. Its a bunch of people in the forest bitching about shit.
Amazing Race.
Never watched it, but it did have two hot mormon chicks from Eugene on it. I would have watched it for that.

Raymond is gone after this season, anyway, IIRC.

Actually, NCIS isn't a copy of JAG, it got its start through JAG but that's as far as it goes. I love it, David McCallum's great. The show itself cracks me up.

I enjoy the CSI shows. They are formulaic, the characterisation is 2 dimensional and they must be running out of Who songs that will make credible opening theme music, but in spite of the shortcomings, I'm usually entertained.

All three CSI franchises screen in the UK and I don't tune in religiously but if I'm at a loose end then it's a good way to kill an hour.

The original CSI is a good show.. Well acted, good effects and the plots hold together more or less logically (at least as logically as other popular shows, including the "Alias," "24" and the like.

I agree, however, that-just as NBC did with "Law and Order," they're going to the well too much with the concept.

In regard to "Raymond," you guys are just going to have to take my word for it: it's not written for 20ish single guys, but about the time you hit your mid 30s and are married, especially if you live anywhere near your inlaws, its a funny show.

I can't believe Survivor is still on the air. It was entertaining the first few seasons, when you didn't know what was going to happen, but now I think they've run out of ways to make it interesting and not open themselves to lawsuits (we all know the contestants aren't in actual danger).

I love the original CSI and watch CSI Miami occasionally. The first CSI NY episode failed to hook me so I haven't seen it again. Remember the first CSI episode?

That is scary.

The only reason I tuned into NCIS in the first place (back when it premiered on JAG, which I don't watch) was for David McCallum. I loved the dark humor in that and the series premiere when it was on it's own, unfortuantly they lost some of it and went a different route on humor, Tony basically being a 13 year old idiot with a gun.

But if I had to comapre NCIS to a show, I'd say it's probably more like L&O and CSI, more crime fighting than lab though. David McCallum's had 3 episodes where his character was either the main focus, or had a prominent feature, and he was great.
