Once again a DC-orientated poll. by "sci-fi" I mean any character who has a connection to either the future or has extraplanetary origins or adventures. I know I've left off the Fantastic Four, Kamandi, OMAC and others, but if you think they are the most interesting, tick "other". (Its a multiple choice poll, too - you can tick more than one box.)

Jack Hawksmoor. For two reasons 1) He's unique. I cannot think of any other character listed here that isn't replicated in some form or another. Either by derivative knockoffs made for copyright purposes or by antecedants which inspired more popular knockoffs (IE Doc Savage/Gladiator to Superman, or Lensmen to Green Lantern). Hawksmoor's origin and character are to my knowledge, completely unique. He was abducted by aliens as a child and through a series of surgical operations transformed into a being capable of communicating with cities. He is, in fact, incapable of living outside of cities (The Authority's carrier being size wise, similar to a city one would assume).
2) He's grown and evolved, both in character and power level, since he appeared. He's been allowed to progress from his first appearance as a street vigilante, to a member of the covert Stormwatch Black, to being one of the Authority, and finally to leading the Authority. He's grown and changed throug all of this. (Of course there are plenty of fanboys that don't comprehend this growth and mistake it for mischaracterization. Fuck 'em.)
So yeah, Jack Hawksmoor.

I didn't think of Adam Strange, I went with GL. Cops in space, cool shit. If more was done with Superman's heritage, I would have picked him too.

Some curious results.
Green Lantern is clearly up there because of Rebirth, but this poll suggests that the Supergirl relaunch in World's Finest failed to capture any imagination.
And while Galactus has plenty of fans, his whiny former herald gets a paltry single vote.

GL is up there cause the Corps have elements of good science fiction.

The Peter David Captain Marvel series is by far the best space/sci-fi series I've ever read.

I voted GL not for one particular character, but for the concept which i have always liked.
while I would have preferred not to have had the huge backwards step of bringing back Jordan, I am glad they are bringing back the actual point of GL: the Corps.

I'm witholding my opinion until I read the Adam Strange mini-series. I picked up all eight issues for a song...

I think Galactus used him as a dildo.
