They made it clear in the movies that the Jedi's force future vision thingy was being clouded. And Qui gon thought Annakin was the chosen one.
But it seemed obvious that Luke was the chosen one and the Jedi were just confused thinking it was Annakin since Jedis generally don't marry and have children.

I don't get in to the Star Wars stories, but to answer your question:

Fuck you.

Isn't saying topic thread being redundant?

And, yes Annakin killed the emperor but it was Luke who swayed him. And it was Luke who restored the Jedi.

So you all can suck it!!!

Are the Jedi necessary for the force, or were they the ones unbalancing it? There were only two Sith Lords. How many thousands of Jedi were there?

The only thing that I think Lucas did well in the prequels was to continue what was displayed in the original trilogy. Obi Wan and Yoda were so blinded by their dogma that they couldn't see the truth. That was multiplied exponetially in the prequels with the Jedi Order. So is it possible that the Jedi Council just didn't understand what the prophecy meant?

The post Return of the Jedi Jedis are supposed to be more balanced. Luke allows them relationships and families and human emotions.

When I first saw this statement I was impressed. I thought it was a good argument.....but it is wrong. Many times in the books it was stated the reason that there were only 2 Sith Lords at a time is this......there was always a Master and an Apprentice....never more than 1 Apprentice so as to prevent the 2 apprentices from conspiring against the Master. They were evil pure and simple and their reasoning for not having more Sith was to save themselves nothing else.

and also in Episode I Yoda and Mace have a conversation about the Sith Obi Wan killed (Darth Maul) asking there are alwasy only 2 Sith so which one did we kill the Master or the apprentice?

and the reaosn why the force was unbalanced was that the Sith were making the Force cloudy. Take away the Sith and you have balance and harmony.

And they compared prices to at least three of their competitors.

But I still stand by my argument. Yes, the Sith chose to only be two at a time; but the Jedi held to a very dogmatic interpretation of the Force and went so far as testing newborns (I hate the Force cooties concept, btw) to induct them for training. From what the movies have presented, the Sith was at least a choice while the Jedi Order was more indoctrination.

Which would explain why Darth Sion, Darth Nhilus, and Darth Traya did not get along very well in KOTOR 2.

And I admit I have no idea who the chosen one is...
