I'm having this discussion with a fellow board member, and we disagree. The answer is plain to me, but I wanna know what others say.

The only way to know for sure is to stick Pariah in a vaccum and let him tell us.

tan·gi·ble Discernable by touch, palpable. Possible to touch. Possible to be treated as fact, real, or concrete.
Well, you can feel air.... differences in pressure, temperature, humidity, etc. are all very much tangible. Also, air is treated as fact... so, yes. Air is, by all applicable means, tangible.

Well, everything is "possible to be treated as fact" by someone, so I vote we skip that definition.

Well if by air you mean stuff like oxigen, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide then yes air is tangible.

I would have to say it is tangible. I can walk into a room and feel that the air inside is cooler or warmer than the air outside. I may not be able to touch it as one would a table or even a bucket of water; but I can still feel it.

I'm flailing my arms around and not touching anything. Ergo, by scientific process of elimination, air is not tangible.

Are you telling me that your sense of touch is not registering the passing of air around your skin as you quickly move them about?

ah, but you can feel the resistance of the air as you flail wildly... The air is not moving in any definite pattern, yet you feel the resistance. it's tangible.

I think this is an argument of semantics. tangible: real, provable tangible (the more common conception of the word): can be touched, felt.

This is the definition I'm using. I can feel temperature. I can feel air passing over my body in certain situations. I can feel a change in pressure of air. Tangible.

one is just air... the other is air, in motion. The motion is caused by.... changes in pressure, among other things.... I think. It's been a while since I've studied meteorology...

Wind is moving air. My point is also that we truly won't know if we in fact feel air or not without the ability to compare to an environment devoid of it and any other stimuli.

Humidity and wind do not account for why your ears pop as you ascend in an airplane.

I gotta also add that you can, in fact, feel the air around you. It's just that you've been feeling it almost nonstop since you exited the womb, so you no longer register the feeling consciously. It's become white noise.
If you don't believe me, walk out into a vacuum, or, even easier, go underwater. You'll notice the difference.

that's air pressure (atmosphere shifts), not air itself. you could argue that air is intangible by itself but becomes tangible when shifted suddenly (as in pressure or friction).

So you do admit that air does possess a tangibility, tough limited.
Why do you consider static air as not being tangible? Is it because you don't notice it?
I think Wednesday addressed that issue pretty well. I've known people who've lost their glasses because when their glasses had been resting on their head for the past hour. Are you saying eye glasses are also intangible?

but we're talking something you can feel on its own. air is there, but intangible unless acted on by something else (pressure, humidity).

Is air tangible? Yes. And blow jobs are adultery. And they should be an Olympic sport.
