Nice Larry Lance idea!! Love the double-agent shit!

And OH!! the Nemo double-bluff! Brilliant, you fucker. I'm literally jealous.

The B-Team! Awesome. \:lol\:

Excellent use of Turkish, btw.

Ozzy = lmfao!!!! \:lol\: \:lol\: \:lol\:

I love seeing you use TOMB's Prometheus as I left him at the end of Heroes & Legends. It's neat to see the "balanced" Pro, the humanity and power equaled. Good take.

THAT'S awesome, dude. Seriously. That was just pitch-perfect. Rypta is a force of nature!

And here comes Viluria! I knew I'd see her pop up again. I'd just re-read that story about a month ago!

Ah, once again Rypta Gudn dies. The 'Supergirl' of this Crisis? ;\)

Overall, I'm digging the hell out of this. I'm totally stoked to see what the status quo is at the end (I said "the end")...

Angelica/Number 5 created by Son of Mxy

 Quote:

#5
Project: Angelica

Height: 6'4
Weight: ???
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue

Number 5 is a meta-human who works for the government's paranormal investigation agency. It is rumored that she was the product of a genetic experiment involving Human and Angel DNA (how they got one, I do not know. Yet. fer chrissakes she's a secondary character, give me a break).

Powers: Like what you'd expect from those secret agent types, Number 5 is proficient in hand to hand and armed combat, and has exhibited slightly above-average human strength and speed. Athlete-type but not superhuman. She can also use her life-force to create solid objects such as shields, swords and whips, like a limited version of Green Lantern's power but blue in color. It's tied to her lifeforce so she obviously can't use it to create objects that are larger than her. She rarely uses this power.

Personality: 5's personality is - to say the least - normal. She's been trained to fit in with the crowd, after all. She can carry a good conversation and is academically intelligent. She doesn't smoke and is fond of sweet foods (candies, chocolates, cake) to a fault.

Jade Starlight created by Chant

 Quote:
Jade "Starlight" Retilian Davis
Age: 17
Height: 5'2" (she wears stilettos to seem taller, kinda peckish with her height)
Weigth: 135 lbs.

Personality: Jade is a 17 year old girl in a 25 year old body, as you can imagine that causes certain problems with her personal life. Let's see, it all began like this.....

"Stars Bright, Brighten the skies
Give your light and let me fly
Burn your flame do not wane
and give to me your healing touch"

"Stars Bright, Bright the skies
Give your might, do what is right
Show the world your darkest Ire
and give to me your Nova Fire!"

Sure, an innocent poem voiced on a hill below the stars. Normally such words wouldn't find any notice with the higher powers. Maybe a publisher would listen, but what are the odds of that?
Then again, what are the odds that the stars themselves would listen?
Not very good, not very good at all. So, was Jade lucky, or was it something else? We'll probably never know, because either she won't tell or she doesn't know!
Anyhow, suddenly she was gone from view in person, and into view on every network and every newspaper, under missing persons! And one of the largest manhunts in history was initiated by the police and FBI. Because, a young, beautiful, white girl is missing? that HAS to be a crime!

But it wasn't...

she was GONE, gone from this world, literally! Where she was, remains a mystery as she has admitted that she doesn't know and can't remember.
But the fact remains, 8 years later she reappeared outside the County Mental Institution near Sacremento where her Brother (see file SDI26247 Dale Retilian Davis) had been commited since after Miss Jade's dissapearence.
She walked in, introduced herself to the staff as the sister of Dale.
The Chief Psychiatrist explained to her that he was probably the worst case they had experienced in years.
What happened next is uncertain. But by all accounts Dale Retilian Davis (see file SDI26247) and every patient in the hospital was completely cured of their mental condition.
This bureau was notified of Miss Jades reappearence and power after the incident, or as some prefer to call it, miracle. It was soon decided that she should be taken into costudy in order to examine her powerlevel and potential threat to the stability of the Magical Weave
However, to this date our spellweavers has only been able to determine that she possess uncharted healing powers of both mental and physical wounds, that she possess an inner light that seemingly protect her against lesser and medium mind probes. That she also possess an offensive array of powers was made abundantly clear when she escaped the confines of this facility.

Richard E. Clemmington
CEO
Bureau of Magical study and defense

Powers: Jades powerlevel is potentially Godlike, with a line under potential. Because she is nowhere near Godlike and it is uncertain whether she will ever be due to consequences which will be explained in a moment.
to describe her powers accurately in terms of what is and what isn't it goes like this.
Flight
Empathy
Healing
Light
Powerblast
and Shield

But it's actually more complicated than this. You see, she does in fact only possess one power, which we can call "The Starforce" (kinda like the green lantern ring, only it's internal and not a ring) Anyhow, she can turn this power into what she needs to do. it makes her fly (and hover, don't forget that) it makes her feel other peoples pain and emotional turmoil (and every other feeling you can name basically) So, when people are happy, she's happy, when people are sad, then she's sad.
She can heal people's wounds, both physically and mentally. She can create light similiar to daylight (obviously not as powerful as the sun)
She can shield her self from harm with, and ONLY herself.
And she can turn the force into powerblasts as powerful as she wants them. But being insecure and generally afraid of hurting people, ANY people they are generally not that powerful.

physically she has the strength and invulnerability of a girl her age. She's in good shape, better than most worse than some.
Her greatest weakness is her inability to percieve true evil in other people, in other words, she's too trusting, downright naive. She's easily emotionally hurt and she's not very secure about herself and her power. She fears her powers!

great work d00d! I think I said it before (although it may seem hard to believe at times), but I learned a sizable chunk of what I know now about writing from doc and you and a little later, from pro. I've always appreciated how thoroughly you get into everyone's characters (not just yours), and I hope to continue improving at that myself in the future.

so we're to blame? ;\)

when you're collaborating with good writers, the hope is that it pushes yourself to become better. this board was my first experience with this sort of thing and I feel I learned a lot while here. Pro had been a longtime contributor to this stuff and was my main source in getting involved. we used to have a lot of conversations about this stuff at work or just hanging out. he talked about TOMB a lot. A LOT. haha. so much that I almost felt like I knew half the people here when I started.

I literally had to write something with TOMB at some point. That's stuff is too good not to take it out and do something with it every now and then. You have no idea the stuff I thinking about when Pro was first discussing what became Heroes and Legends. Matching up TOMB and Vanguard members and pitting them against menaces like our own little JSA/JLA crossovers.

Stuff you'll never see. heh. Like Bibbo's funeral and TOMB/Vanguard's attempt to save his soul from an ancient water demon. Epic what ifs.

Doc had done some of this in other places and has a long history of gaming/writing as well and basically coming into this stuff together, I felt a little more secure with someone at my back, if you will. Having someone else to sit down with and make sense of all this stuff. Doc's kept me on track with a lot of this stuff more times than I can remember. Even stuff that I wrote and forgot about.

I'd written before. been published a few times, etc. so I did have that behind me, and that's the main way I viewed this place. exercises in writing, in experimenting and playing with styles and character concepts. I think I improved a lot during my time here. I learned some things to do and hopefully some things not to do.

We've had our fun here. We've had our wars. Epical battles across time/spaace/message boards. heh. Some people I feel like I connected really heavily with. Others not so much. But that's a part of life. Some characters I grasped easily, others took work.

Aside from the prior two bastards mentioned, the main people here that I learned from and who helped me get into my groove (such as it is), were Chewy, Danny, and Mxy. I spent a lot of time in the early days talking with these guys and discussing characters, stories, etc. as well as life and various things in our lives that were happening at the time. I have to mention Gooz as he was in that group initially but after a time seemed to lose interest in the boards and in any real collaborative efforts and just seemed to show up once in a while just to throw a monkeywrench into the works. That was disappointing.

Later arrivals I got to work with to various degrees but who didn't seem to last: Sunhaven, notwedge, SOV, and Blackwulf. I take credit/blame for Blackwulf. While the character was fun, the poster may not have been that great a fit. He has however, found a bit of contentment microbrewing beers and his gf had their child yesterday. The others I wanted to work more with but life elements seemed to get in their way. I know SOV has a successful tech business in Canada, as well as a family. Sunhaven is back on the coast and hopefully I'll see him in a couple of weeks at FCBD.

Then there's Jaclyn. I'm so proud of her and what she did here. Watching her spread her wings (metaphorically) and take flight and become one of the all around best writers here. I hope she gets the opportunity to create more because I really miss reading her work. Plus, we need more pics. ;\)

Sammitch, I'm gonna address you directly for a bit. I didn't list you with one of the main groups as we really did not work together all that much on this board. Most of what we collaborated on was RDCW stuff. Though you were frequently late, you improved fast and did work hard when you worked. I feel that that was an important process in your writing as it stretched your boundaries past what you were doing here. It made you think more about other characters and less about technical description.

Your stuff reads less like a tech manual now and more like a story. You're still more comfortable with Phil and your own characters than with others, but you're taking those steps. Write more. Read more. LIVE more. Push yourself past your own preconceived boundaries. Then unleash some shit to blow all our minds.

Last but not least, Get Funky and Kick Some ASS!

The most fun I've ever had writing a post was when I had to keep going back and reading Mxy's last post to dissect it so that Adem could examine and describe the 'crime scene' in Dark World.

I sincerely wish we had enough new blood to get another group started. Without anyone new that wants to commit or explore the writing, it just ends up being one or two posters writing for the group...
