Webber is such a wuss. He gets a hangnail and he's on the IR. And Divac only flops around, nothing else.

With Sabonis out of basketball for the time being, Divac is the best passing center in the NBA. It may not look pretty, but Divac gets it done.
Only guys I really like on Sacremento are Bobby Jackson and Brad Miller. The rest have their inconsistencies and weaknesses, but those two come to play every night.

My future predictions:
'Melo is Rookie of the Year.
Erick Dampier's the NBA Most Improved Player.
Garnett or Duncan will be MVP. Miller and J. O'Neal will also be on the list.
Van Exel will be traded.
R. Wallace will be traded.
Kobe will stay with the Lakers.
Denver will make it to the quarters. So will Memphis.
Kings are the 2004 world champs. They'll defeat the Pacers in four straight.

Barring injury, suspension or serious collapse, Zach Randolph will run away with the MIP award. From 8.4 PPG and 4.4 RPG to 22.4 PPG and 11.0 RPG currently. That's huge. Dampier's been playing well, but I don't think he'll finish the year with the numbers he has now(he could be a double-double guy, but probably 10 and 10, not 12 and 13).
Denver's playing really well now, but I don't think they're built for the long stretch. They might make the playoffs as a 7th or 8th seed, but I'd be surprised if they did.

I'll look past their legacy and look at them now: A Hall of Fame coach, four players in the starting line up who will be in the Hall, and solid veterans off the bench like Derek Fisher and Horace Grant. This translates into one thing:  And I HATE the Lakers. But they're the team to beat right now. I fully expect them to take the title, barring Kobe self destructing.

The Kings have been saying "it's our year" for the past 3 seasons, and look what's happened.
At first, I questioned how well the new Lakers would play together(especially with Kobe's trial going on), but so far they've been barely short of perfect. I'm not completely convinced yet that they're the team of destiny, since old legs can be deceptively sharp one night, and sagging the next....but I'd have to say they've impressed me.

I don't know how exactly you're getting that from what I said. Rexstardust said that he thought the Lakers would self-destruct because of pesonality clashes. I said that they've clashed before, and been fine. You're reading alot more into it than what's actually there.
However, now that you bring it up, yes, to a certain extent. A team playing well despite distractions is a testament to the strength of the team itself. Is it not?

Doesn't matter if you have class or not. The Detroit Pistons had none whatsover (Other than Joe D.) and won two championships. Went to the Lake Show the other night. I asked Jack Nicholson what he thought about the Kings winning it all. Ya know what he said?

Ah, how quickly they forget. Remember when he led the Pistons off the floor in the closing seconds of the Eastern Conference finals when the Bulls went to the Finals in 1990? Led the team right past the Bulls bench.

I remember that, and I also remember the controversy about Isiah "phasing out" Michael Jordan in the All Star game back in '84/'85.
It was a rivalry. An intense one. I still think Rick Fox is a classy guy, despite the famous altercation he and Doug Christie had last year.
Joe Dumars did some questionable things in his handling of the Rick Carlisle situation this offseason, but I still think he's a very classy guy, as well.

I don't know the whole thing with Dumars and Carlisle. Listening to a reporter from the Detroit papers, it sounds as though Joe wanted to keep Rick, but Rick wasn't well liked by the owner. That's why Joe was verrrry praiseworthy of Rick in Rick's outgoing press conference, so Rick could get a job elsewhere.
But I was still a big fan of the Bad Boys. Laughed my ass off when Zeke led the team past the Bulls.

Oh no, Dumars was Carlisle's biggest critic. He didn't like the way Rick "overcoached", as he described it. He was used to Chuck Daly's style of coaching, who pushed guys in practice, but let them play when the games came. Rick's not like that.
Apparently, there were other disagreements between the two parties, that Dumars hasn't elaborated on, as he's a fairly private person.

Hmmmm...well, I was listening on the radio to a reporter from the Detroit Free Press. I figured that the beat reporter would know.
I don't know. All I know is, I think Rick got jobbed and Larry Brown ain't doing all the great. He's driving them into the ground and he'll end up destroying that franchise. Where'd he learn to coach?
I'm kidding. But I'd say that the Pistons aren't that good and NEEDED to be overcoached. They're best player barely averaged more than 6 ppg! There's an obvious adjustment period, but hopefully they'll turn it around this year rather than next year.
