Ok so lets talk about bands that dont get any Raido play like Deadbolt, Agent Orange, REO Speed Dealer, The Clash, The Cramps, The Damned, just to name a few.
So if you think "Insert Corprate Punk Band here "is Punk try listening to some of the older stuff in punk and Not spend so much time being Petty and thinking that Green Day are gods than get with the Cluture "I wont be my parents, I will be smarter than them! i Cant stop a war, i Will make my own." the thought that you can put the idea of freedom of thought and expression in a catagory is verry wrong and if en youy dont like it you can "Suck My Ass It Smells!!"

I think satellite radio, because its revenue is subscription-based rather than advertisement based, has greater freedom to play what it, and its subscribers, want. Advertisers may not want to advertise on a station that plays Siouxsie and the Banshees, Deadbolt, The Cramps, etc exclusively. That doesn't mean that there's no demand for it, and satellite can capitolize on that by offering stations that exclusively play metal, ska, and certainly punk. It's a win-win situation.

I agree with you that those bands are cooler. Most musical styles are much more authentic if all you listen to is oldies versions of the genre. It's like comparing the Beatles to Oasis.
