Why is it Marvel movies keep using the same actors?
I can understand a DC movie and a Marvel movie using the same actors (James Marsden, Parker Posey and Halle Berry), but crossover potential seems a bit weird when there are the same actors in multiple franchises.
The Punisher and the X franchise had Ben Foster and Rebecca Romijn Stamos, and of course Elliot appeared in Hulk and Ghost Rider.
Is there really that few actors in Hollywood that they cant at least not share actors?
I know it doesnt really matter, but I do find it funny!

Tim Roth plays a bellhop stuck in a hotel on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. While he's there, he gets called to four different hotel rooms. Each makes for a sensational story written by a different screenwriter. The last room's story is written by and starring Quentin Tarantino. It's a very good movie overall. Underrated.

The Tarantino sequence was, quite possibly, the worst thing he's ever done. Just because you have one of your characters in the story admit that he's ripping off Hitchcock and Roald Dahl doesn't mean that your're not ripping them off yourself.
The best thing about this movie was the shots of Salma Hayak on TV in one of the rooms dancing in a bikini.

of course he was ripping off Hitchcock. he's never stated that he wasn't. the sequence itself is very effective, with the long buildup and the quick resolution. it works, especially in regards to the rest of the sequences. there's nothing bad about it except for the stated lack of originality.

The Tarantino sequence was the only one I liked. Bruce Willis.

I found the The middle two rooms in Four Rooms the most entertaining.
David Proval is a great actor. He really has the range to take any role he wants to be successful. Plus him being in the same segment as Jennifer Beals (Somebody Ive been spanking it to since Flashdance) made the mistaken identity room very entertaining to me.
Then third third room has the corpse of a murdered hooker stuffed into the bedsprings. You can't go wrong with that.

He was Sam Elliott before, but coming up in the next Hulk movie, General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross will be played by William Hurt, this according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The casting news for The Incredible Hulk is the latest in the wholesale change-out of the cast from the Ang Lee-directed Hulk to the upcoming Louis Leterrier-directed film, due to be released in 2008. Replacing Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly, respectively, Edward Norton will play Bruce Banner, while Liv Tyler will play Betty Ross. Tim Roth will play Emil Blonsky/the Abomination.
The script of The Incredible Hulk was written by Zak (X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four, X2) Penn, with Avi Arad, Gale Anne Hurd and Kevin Feige producing. Jim Van Wyck, David Maisel, Ari Arad and Stan Lee are listed as executive producers.
The Incredible Hulk is slated to begin filming in Toronto this summer.

William Hurt is a very good actor. But he is definitely not Thunderbolt Ross.
Sam Elliot did a fine job portraying the general.

Empire Movie News
With a new trailer imminent and the actual movie less than four months away, Universal has provided us with two exclusive new shots from The Incredible Hulk, which both appear in the new issue of Empire, on sale from Friday. You can click the images below for a closer look.
The first image shows Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, on the verge of some major hulking out. The second gives the first look at William Hurt as General Ross.
We also spoke to the director Louis Letterier, who filled us in on what to expect from the return of the big green meanie.
"We didn't want to make a cerebral movie," he says of comparisons to Ang Lee's earlier film. "We wanted full action, Hulk smashing stuff up. But Ed Norton's script has given Bruce's story real gravitas – Marvel has always made their superhero movies with great actors to make it tangible and Ed has nailed it here. Admittedly, I'm not the most adult director, but just because we're making a superhero movie, it doesn't just have to appeal to 13-year-old boys. Ed and I both see superheroes as the new Greek gods, so there's a classical undercurrent to Bruce's psycho-drama. It's Prometheus, Pandora's Box, Hercules...but with explosions!" That's what we always felt was missing in the Greek myths.

Summary:
Not happy with the artsy-fartsy previous version of the Hulk, Marvel has promised a re-do for the sequel. The "requel" promises less greek tragedy and more "HULK SMASH!" Hulk 2 may feature the emergence of the grey-skinned Hulk. Possible bad guys include The Leader and The Abomination. UPDATE - Hulk 2 find's scientist Bruce Banner living in shadows, scouring the planet for an antidote. But the warmongers who dream of abusing his powers won't leave him alone, nor will his need to be with the only woman he has ever loved, Betty Ross (Liv Tyler).
Upon returning to civilization, our brilliant doctor is ruthlessly pursued by The Abomination (Tim Roth) -- a nightmarish beast of pure adrenaline and aggression whose powers match The Hulk's own. A fight of comic-book proportions ensues as Banner must call upon the hero within to rescue New York City from total destruction. And on June 13, 2008, one scientist must make an agonizing final choice -- accept a peaceful life as Bruce Banner or the creature he could permanently become: The Incredible Hulk.

Ed Norton And Marvel In 'Hulk'-ing FeudThe Incredible Hulk trailer is on its way. It debuts Wednesday night at 9:56 pm on all the MTV channels and Spike TV and VH1. It gets shown Thursday at ShoWest. And it plays this weekend in front of Universal pics in the theaters. (But it's also being teased on YouTube now.) I'm told the pic's producer-screenwriter-star Edward Norton helped get the trailer ready last week and loves it.
But does he also love the movie? Not yet.
I'm told that's because Norton and Marvel are clashing over how to cut the pic. Insiders say Norton was "promised tremendous involvement and access" after Marvel invited him into the core team to rewrite Zak Penn's script. Says one insider, "There's a lot of posturing going on between Edward's camp and Marvel over how you edit the final version." Sources also tell me that, starting last night and continuing at least throughout today, the actor will be holed up with Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel, Marvel Studios president of production Kevin Feige, and director Louis Leterrier to try to "reach an amicable resolution" to this $150+ million film feud.
Some insiders blame Marvel for not accepting Norton's POV about the movie. "There's a problem. Marvel won't listen to Norton about the cut," one source claims. But Norton has bonafides: he did that uncredited rewrite of Frida for his then girlfriend Selma Hayek and made his directorial debut on Keeping the Faith.
Some blame Norton, known to be prickly. Remember his problems with Paramount over The Italian Job and with director Tony Kaye over American History X? "Never let an actor write a script," one insider commented. "Marvel made a mistake letting the wolf into the hen house."
hulk1.jpgBut I say that, after Ang Lee's troubled The Hulk left audiences cold, The Incredible Hulk needs Edward Norton's warm support if the pic's gonna have any street cred. Some fear things blowing up to the point where Norton might not publicize the movie. And Marvel is petrified that the new Hulk may be judged "prematurely and unfairly." (Or that bloggers will start claiming the Hulk franchise is cursed.)
Right now, Marvel is said to be about 4 to 5 weeks away from locking the movie for its June 13th release by Universal whose top execs haven't yet seen it ("though some marketing guys have been working off a rough cut that's in pretty good shape," I'm told). "At this stage you always have discussions about what's in the film and what's not going to be in the film. Everyone's very passionate, and Edward is very opinionated." Said another source, "There is a very healthy exchange of ideas going on. Discussions now are even more heated. But some of Ed's best movies have had this exact dynamic to them. Everyone's in the process of figuring it out and working it out. But I expect it'll all get resolved pretty quickly."
