Comment: A common story I've heard is that when Bill Gates wanted to use the Rolling
Stones' song "Start me up" in one of his Windows 95 commercials that would
only be shown for 2-3 months. The Stones, wanting no part of it decided to
try to discourage him with an outrageous fee $11 million Royalty fee. They
figured that not even Gates was rich (or crazy) enough to accept. At the
time, such a royalty fee for a running ad was considered ludicrus.

Gates got the last laugh when he simply said "Deal; I'll have my lawyers
call your Lawyers for the paperwork."

And before he hung up, he said to the band member on the phone (most
commonly claimed to be Mick Jagger) "By the way - nice try, asshole!"
