Uncanny sucked. it felt like a '90's retread. And didn't Magneto get his powers back from Xorn? I seem to remember that happening during the Civil War. The main x-books have sucked for a long time now. Morrison was the only good X-writer during his tenure years and Whedon was good, but his book was more pop action than story driven. I think the balls been dropped after the House of M. I mean, that storyline wiped out almost every mutant, then all the issues after that mutants that were left seemingly died at least 1 a month. And then Messiah Complex sucked horribly, killing off even more mutants and making Bishop a wannabe baby killer, turning X-Factor into a pile of crap, sending Layla Miller into Bishops future, and shooting Xavier in the head, only to have him mysteriously disappear in the last panel only to be alive in the re-titled Legacy.

I tried Buffy, and I like how they brought back Warren and Amy, but it just seemed to be too much "Yay, girl power!" It seems that when people legitimately voice concerns about thousands of super-powered girls showing up overnight with no training, Buffy just chalks it up to sexism. That seemed very simplistic and I expected better from Whedon.
Fray was all kinds of awesome, though.

Oh, yeah, the puppet episode was the high point of Season 5. After all, it was written by Ben Edlund, the man who created The Tick, so it was almost guaranteed awesome.

POWERS? I used to read the Wild Cards books years ago, and had a few of the comic books from the 90s. Good stuff, in the novels at least. It kinda took the whole Watchmen concept a little further, with even more adult themes. One guy (and yer gonna love this PJP and Jim) got his powers through tantric sex, and fucking people (including corpses) up the bum!
