Farrell needs the right character and co-stars to make his stuff funny. I hated Farrell and still found Anchorman fucking hilarious. I think a lot of it did with not just Farrell and the script, but the people he had in the film with him like Rudd and Carell. Plus, the anchor street fight was the fucking bomb.

I watched that horrible Christmas show she did (runaway bride?) and the first episode of the last series....that was enough!
Oh COME ON! I can't tell you the universe of difference between her character in those two beginning episodes, and the rest of the season! Man, she's a great actress! You should really watch the entire season with an open mind. I know you hate her show over there. I don't find her funny at all in anything I've ever seen her in. Except, she was one of the best companions in the history of Doctor Who. Seriously, man. If your hatred of her isn't unreasonably pathological, then you really should give the rest of her season a shot. She just got better and better.

You say Will Ferrell films after Old school are overrated, yet claimed in another thread that you have not watched any after Old school, so how do you know they are overrated?
I have seen Anchorman. It had one scene in it that was consistently funny, and it wasn't because of Will Ferrell. I've also seen enough of Elf to be bored by it.
So first off you lied that you have not watched any of his films since Old school, and secondly, because you didnt like Anchorman, that means you are know films you havent seen are overrated. Gotcha!
I would also question whether Ferrells films are overrated seeing as, going on the recent thread about Semi-Pro, his films arent necessarily rated that highly by the mass majority.
Those with a sense of humour do rate Anchorman, Old School, Talladega Nights and Elf very highly yes, but stuff like Semi-Pro and Bewitched are not rated that highly, even by Ferrell fans.
And as bsams said, anyone who does not find Anchorman to be hilarious, has no sense of humour (see rex).

I have to say, I remember seeing the trailers etc for this, and it did not impress me, and then stumbled on it months later when it was on tv.....funniest film I had seen in years, with total rewatchability over and over!
