Likes: Of course Bands like the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Ramones, etc are gonna be in it which is awesome. I think it is really cool to have Kurt Kobain in it, especially at number 10 which is really honorable. And it was cool to have Radiohead and the Beastie Boys in it as well.

Dislikes: The fact that aerosmith isn’t in it. Uh why? They’ve been around for what 30 years, and they rock. I think that was dumb. For “Dr. Dre” to be in it and not have aerosmith in it, is pretty sad. Some Artists got really high places while others deserving a high spot didn’t get one. For example, Madonna is 6 while the who is 42, the doors is 37, and The Ramones is 39. I think they could have ordered it a bit better.

Buddy Holly, Zeppelin and the Who should've been way higher. I like seeing the Sex Pistols on it, usually they get gypped in these lists. I agree that Aerosmith should be on the list. Even though they are the biggest sell outs right now, their awesomeness in the '70s and '80s cannot be denied. The biggest crime of neglection, however, is that AC/DC isn't on the list! I mean, what the FUCK? I recently tried to make a list of top 100 songs of all-time, and there was about six AC/DC songs in the top 30. There is no way The Eagles or Tina Turner or Rage Against the Machine should be on that list.

Kurt Cobain forever.

any rock-n-roll list without AC/Dc is obviously a farce! it should be discounted and ignored!

Like their current stuff or not Aerosmith deserves a place in that list before the likes of the true schlocks known as the Beach Boys.
The last Aerosmith was...eh...ok but the others really rock.
While I truly hate the likes of Michael Jackson and tolerate REM and U2 I can undertand their place in the poll.
Dr Dre seems placed as a token rapper.
I am however truly surprised that kathleen has an overall decent taste in music.

the beach boys have some decent stuff. nothin id drive around to or anything, but... hey, they're retardedly famous for a reason. (not to mention that they were the beatles favorite band).

but... definitely aerosmith has gotta get on the list. id say top 10... but CERTAINLY top 100, for crimeny's sake.

the worst part is... the poll was created by a reputible source!! i mean, id expect this kinda crap decision if it were, like, tv guide's top 100 list, or, teen people or something. then, you'd EXPECT crap to be on there.

but life magazine? c'mon, people.

Big Ones was the last Aerosmith album if you ask me, I don't know who came out with that other crap.....

What I want to know is why Pearl Jam is up there as a band, but Kurt Cobain is the only representative of Nirvana?

All in all that's not a bad list at all, maybe not the placements but they have a majority of the essentials.

I'm not a Madonna fan, but considering she was one of the main reasons MTV became big and conversly so for her career, I don't think you can argue against her influence on the music industry.

Hey, no Boy Bands were mentioned, "take your victories, big an small" as Vince Lombardi said.

Hey, don't be dissin' the Beach Boys! They could actually sing, which can't be said for the pop groups of today, they were around back in the day where there was no such thing as "lipsinking."

Too true, but then again so did all of the Beatle's early stuff. It's easier to make different sounding songs in today's world, but not everyone can even do that. Just look at Creed.
