The minimalist inside me(kinky!) was content with the 32" Sanyo I had since GW Bush gave us the $500 rebate in 2002(1?). But alas the old girl is dying and the family wanted a new tv. My Dad has a Philips plasma and I love the deep colors of plasma much more than the bright lights of the LCD.
Today we went TV shopping and I got hooked by a giant Mitsubishi. I don;t know if it's the Mitsubishi brand or the DLP(whatever the hell that is, i know it has something to do with a creepy little girl and mirrors). But this has as deep if not deeper blacks, blues ect that plasma has. It's rear projection so I get some satisfaction in its $300 or so cheaper than a flat panel of similar size.
