Batisa says he's signed with Strikeforce, Strikeforce says "Batista who?".

I can only hope to see his face punched in.

Stay tuned.

Stay indoors.

Lesnar agrees

 Quote:
In a new interview with MMAFighting.com to promote his UFC 116 fight with Shane Carwin, Brock Lesnar was asked about Batista’s claims to TMZ that he would be fighting for Strikeforce. Lesnar responded:
“Get in line, everybody and their dog wants to get into fighting,” he said. “Next question. We’re talking about a heavyweight championship fight, not some wannabe.”

Batista's too prone to injury. He'd probably tear his quads on his own, before the bell rings.

He's most likely not making millions, but MMA will probably pay less. But he won't be on the road 300+ days a year with nightly chances to be injured by other wrestlers or, more likely, himself.

It's likely an ego thing. Also I have heard in the past of wrestlers believing their own gimmick, maybe it still goes on. He may truly believe he's a monster. This should straighten him out quickly.

Nah, he's only need to be on the road half a day in MMA before he is injured.

TMZ has a new article up with comments from Booker T regarding Batista’s possible move into MMA. Booker, who fought Batista backstage a few years back, says that Batista wouldn’t last 5 minutes in the ring with a guy like Bobby Lashley. Booker told TMZ that he doesn’t think Batista can “match up” with some of the Strikeforce fighters and that he will get crushed if he tries MMA.

A deal hasn’t been reached between Batista and Strikeforce yet but Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker confirmed interest in a fight, bringing up the idea of Batista vs. Bobby Lashley. Batista was asked about Lashley as a potential opponent and said he would do it, but he wants a few fights to build to Lashley. Coker thinks if they can get Lashley vs. Batista on CBS with a good semi-main event then they can do big ratings.
Batista, who is training, has hired a wrestling coach, a boxing coach and a Jiu Jitsu coach. Lashley is trying to recover from a knee injury that put him out of a fight back in June. It’s said that Lashley’s injury isn’t healing as quickly as he would have liked.

His knee refuses to heal cuz he's black.

On the other hand, I remember Lesnar got better from an illness that was supposed to end his MMA career, simply by willing his body back to full health.

Definitely. Lesnar proved to the world last night just how tough he really is...

Any other fighter would have been KO'd after that first punch (let alone the combinations dude was throwing after he knocked Lesnar silly)

Batista would have been UFC's first in-cage death if he took that punch.

For what its worth, the only wrestlers I can see making a successful transition from pro wrestling to MMA would be those that have either a successful amateur wrestling background or some serious martial arts skills.

Maybe a guy like Taker in his prime could have maybe had some success, but even then, he would have needed some serious training.
A naturally big guy like him, who has worked out, compared to a weight lifter build that someone like Batista has is a very different situation.

You only have to look at Lesnar to see that he trimmed off a lot of that 'weight lifter' muscle that he had in WWE, to know that being 'ripped' doesnt equate to being successful in MMA.
Also, the amount of steroid abuse that Batista has likely partaken of, would also weaken him significantly (not physical strength, but the muscles themselves and the susceptibility to injury).

Yep. No disputing any of that.

Brock was a 4 time NCAA heavyweight amateur wrestling champion at the University of Minnesota and Lashley was a 2 time heavyweight amateur wrestling champion in the military.

The only question marks for them is/was if they could take a hard punch from a trained heavyweight striker.

Shane Carwin is a well trained heavyweight striker (12-0 mostly by KO before losing to Lesnar) Brock not only took dude's best shot; but he also survived dude's best ground-and-pound offence while still dazed and in a state of confusion from the first shot (and he actually came back to win the damn match on top of that)

Shitista even thinking of MMA is just laughable.
