This year is going to be a trip if the first two weeks is any indicator...
First...starts off pretty good partying with Franta and his "posse" for 30 some odd hours...
Then my Grandma's husband passes away. So I take off of work for the last day of my old job (Friday) and the first day of my new job (monday) to go to the out of town funeral. Luckily the jobs are with the same hospital so it really wasn't an issue with work. Drive close to 700 miles this weekend going downstate to the funeral and back. Got back lat night, but took today off to rest after the drive.
So today, ran errands, then went to pick up my cat from where he was being boarded for the weekend. And I get into an accident. One of those chain reaction, asshole decides to make a left hand turn last minute and everyone slams on their brakes. Two cars in front of me slam on their brakes. I slam on mine, lock up the brakes, but don't hit the car in front of me...that is until the Blazer in back of me slams into me, then I hit the car in front of me. I was thinking, "Damn that was close", when BAM I get hit. Somehow, the car in front of me didn't have a scratch (they took off before the cops came), my car didin't have a scratch except the cover on my spare tire was torn (no clue how that happened). The Blazer was not so lucky...front bumper half fell off, grill fell off, leaking transmission fluid or something all over. I got out, my neck was a little sore, head ached a bit, the other driver was fine. They called an ambulance which I refused. I went to ER on my own...gave me mortin told me that even though I hurt just a little today, I will feel like total crap tomorrow...gee, I can't wait...
So, I go pick up Splotch from the cat place. I had mentioned to the owner I was planning on getting a friend for Splotch. She said she found the perfect cat for me. She is all black (not sure if that was a good idea considering how the year is going...), good with other animals (the family that had her had a dog) and she is supposedly toilet trained...yes, toilet trained...haven't seen it yet, but it is possible. Her name that she has had is Sister Hazel (like the band), but I'm not fond of that, so I think (not sure yet) that I am just going to shorten it to Hazel, since she has hazel green eyes. Her and Splotch are getting along great. I just felt so bad leaving Splotch alone when I worked 16 hours shifts.
Well, that's my rant...
I start my new jobs tomorrow...things can only get better from here, right?
