OK, so we had the Legionnaire hair survivor on the old DC board awhile ago. But that only covered 20 or so 'dos. WHAT ABOUT THE REST?

Like Phantom Girl's semi-bouffant with bangs from the silver age - ugh! She looked like a small-town girl who thought it was high fashion but was very, very mistaken.

But, I wouldn't take on Meglaro without one!

My sister's wrapped braids, as portrayed later in the LSH v3 (Levitz and the returned Giffen) era.

Those were DEADLY weapons! Not to others, to her! A quick change in velocity, vector or speed, and the inertia involved would make them clobber her head!

I actually kinda liked that. I thought it was cute.

But on him how could anything not be.

Remember how Patterson drew Lightning Lad with long hair?

I also liked Sprouse's Inferno with longish hair.

I liked that. (Can we discuss GOOD hair here?)

Much as it pains me to say this because Lu's my girl and I love Alan Davis's art...I hated that bowl haircut he gave Triad!

Best Lu hair: CURT SWAN and OLIVIER COIPEL

Last night, I reread LSH Baxter-era nos. 51-63...

I found I *loved* Giffen's short 'do for Saturn Girl... she looked great!

Sprouse's Lu had great hair too, the obvious inspiration for Coipel...

The worst for me was the vampire look sported by Tasmia in the Addled Legion story.

Was that the SKULLCAP dealie she wore for a while? Hated it.

Best TASMIA looks: Cockrum/Grell era (I loved the batwing boots & gold jewelry) and Olivier Coipel (retro 'do).

I was never too fond of Element Lad's preboot 'fro.

And postboot Starboy's "shaved at the sides" was bad

I did NOT like Phantom Girls' hair during the Jimmy Janes days.

I DID like it as drawn by Curt Swan.

I liked Wildfire's hair after Quislet taught him to simulate a human body ... I know it was only energy hair..but can we count Energy hair, too??

Unless, of course, it's on Isaac from the Love Boat.

So you *liked* the tuning-fork strapped to the head look? Oops! No wonder it didn't show up on the Accessories Survivor thread.

Loved everything else about that costume, though. Still, I liked the Moy designed one best- followed by the classic Adventure uniform.

Sigh,

Hmmm-- that tuning fork thingie could be a 'U' couldn't it? As such, it'd be appropriate for Umbra, wouldn't it?

Then again, there's a certain pleasing symmetry in Shadow Lass wearing a 'U' on her head, while Umbra wore 'S's on her wrists and chest.

My nominee for horrible Legionnaire hair goes to Atmos' armpit hair.

It must'be been atrocious to cause him to gauge those holes out of his arms.
