I've read it's controversial; some say it's crap while for some it's cult. I don't expect anything from it apart from being a decent turkey. (At least it has music by Sting and Max von Sydow has a part.)

BTW, I haven't read the DUNE books yet but I own most of Frank Herbert's and some of the Brian Herbert/Kevin J Anderson novels. The rest I can get at the library.
