Yes... Monkees and Zevon.

But, right now, "Hey Good Lookin'", by Hank Williams Sr.

I think, next up will be "Hang On" by Hank III.

The new Blondie single "Good Boys". Very slick and kind of a techno groove.

'Kamikaze' by P J Harvey.

Filthy elastic bass, played like a lead guitar.

A nagging insistent guitar part that joins in during the second verse.

Rob Ellis absolutely pounding the shit out of a drumkit.

Polly Harvey's wailing falsetto in the chorus.

The most exciting two minutes and ten seconds in rock.

It is, of course, about sex.

And in case anyone's wondering, all this stuff I'm playing was used on the 1968 Ralph Bakshi-Gray Morrow / Krantz Films version of SPIDER-MAN! [cool]

WOW! Profh0011, how would I be able to acquire a copy of this? I used to love the Spider-Man jazz soundtracks--that music was a big influence on me picking up a saxophone for the first time!

Have you ever heard of Starflyer 59? Their earlier albums sound A LOT like My Bloody Valentine, circa Loveless. Shoegazer rock with the "wall of sound" technique -- layers and layers and layers of guitars, with hushed, almost whispered vocals.

Here's the CDs I have in my case (I may repeat some of the bands from my earlier post):

Joy Electric / Rainbow Rider
The Prayer Chain
My Bloody Valentine
Starflyer 59
Bon Voyage (Starflyer's side project)
The Rentals
Pony Express
Velvet Blue Music - The Future is Blue compilation
Revered Horton Heat
Billy - Rockabilly/Psychobilly compilation
Southern Culture on the Skids
Man...or Astroman?
Dick Dale & the Del-tones
Thee Spivies
Havalina Rail Co.
Brian Setzer
Johnny Cash
Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash
Bob Dylan
"Desperado" sndtrk
Ozomatli
The Smiths
New Order
The Cure
Future Bible Heroes
Saint Etienne
AIR
Les Rythmes Digitales
Daft Punk
Portishead
Massive Attack
Tricky
Morcheeba
Spiritualized
X-Ecutioners
Mix Master Mike
Beastie Boys
DJ Shadow
Deee-lite
Lo-Fidelity All-Stars
