Would this be a good movie to take a 10 and 11 year old to? They just saw goonies for the first time last month. I was hoping this could be a good follow up for them.
i think it'd be fine. it might be a little loud, a little scary, and there's a few swears here and there. but it should be very comparable to the goonies. the bulk of the story is the kids; their interactions with one another, and their reaction to the events, dealing with parents, etc. it really
is like the goonies or ET in many regards, at least when it comes to the kids.
it's not like a disconnected "alien takes over new york city" film, either. it has a very small-town 1970s vibe. like where everyone bikes to each others' house, parents have no knowledge of where kids are after dinner, and they always have these cool hangout locations, etc.
