The original direction's been gutted. And it looks like the film is moving ahead of the book in terms of pace: it's only the second part and the government's already shut down the patent office.

I'm not too cranky about the cast change. I just wish they could have at least kept the guy who originally played Rearden--and the original Eddie Willers would have been nice too.

Something I hope they change is Taggert becoming all dreamy-eyed over Galt. It's one thing to appreciate him and his cause, but I thought it was pretty stupid how she switched from D'anconia to Rearden to Galt without so much as a "I think we should see other people". I'd expect that kind of attitude from Dominique Francon ala Fountainhead, but it just didn't fit with Dagny.
