Fun fact :

I think the first time I mail-ordered comics in 1975, it was from Richard Alf.
Who from the time he was in high school was selling comics by mail-order. And some time after I ordered from him, had a retail comic store. He used to run mail-order ads in DC and Marvel titles. The stand-out book I got from him was BATMAN 200, with a nice Neal Adams cover, and interior story by Mike Friedrich and Chic Stone (uncredited). Plus some Silver Age Hawkman issues by Gardner Fox and Murphy Anderson. And mostly O'Neil and Novick/Giordano BATMAN and DETECTIVE issues.

I thought the name looked familiar, and then I realized his ad was my first experience buying mail-order comics !

Richard Alf ad, that ran in KAMANDI issues 37-40
(other Richard Alf ads ran in KAMANDI 29-36, and other DC tiles the same months )
