"Better Days" by the Goo Goo Dolls.......i love the lyrics...

And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

Saw them at a small concert at the Crest Theater in Sacramento right after they made it big with their "February Sun" CD. That is still one of my favorite CDs. One of the few that I can listen through all the way.

S'funny - a friend of mine burned a bunch of CD with music from groups I'm not all that familiar with - I'm making my way through the CDs and the songs are hit or miss with me, but this particular song I really, really liked.

On the radio now:

Superstitious - Stevie Wonder - love this song...

It's not a question of like or dislike as much as a question of...do they have any original material? I'm just wondering.

The bulk of their material is original.
They have had a few cover songs, and they usually always got released as singles, but the covers really are a small portion of thier output!
Of course, they probably had less hit singles in the USA,so it probably would seem like all they did was release covers!

I think in the US all they ever did release as singles were covers: I Got You Babe, the Way You Do the Things You Do, Red Red Wine...all covers.

One of their main problems is they actually released three covers albums (Labour of love 1,2 & 3,which prolly got more exposure worldwide than any of their albums of originals).

They released so much more than just covers though
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg...sev1z81ajyvo~T2

Personally I got pissed off with them when a bunch of guys at work kept playing Labour of love 2,over & over & over again,a few years ago!

The Barenaked Ladies are the greatest live band ever. I saw them in concert and was completely blown away by their performance. Its too bad their recent CDs have been mediocre at best.
