I would still prefer if Joe wrote the recap for the last grudge tag match in its entirety.

The Recap is finally up. Basically if you sent me a match recap, that's what went up. I've been sick all weekend - I still am - so I didn't work out anything big for the matches. So, to all of you who made this Recap possible, I say "Thanks". I'll try not to make this a constant thing - I'll do more editing, additions, etc to the stuff you all send me.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go blow my ballast.

Hope you get better Joe.

By the way, where do we post our promo spots for the rumble? There are three separate rumble threads, so I'm not sure where to post.

Post it in the undercard since the other two will be cut off after tomorrow.

For the Undercard Matches, send anything you want to happen in your matches to me by Thursday (anytime Thrusday). I'll start putting them together on Friday. On Saturday night I'll PM whatever I have to Joe so that he can edit, complete, and post them on Sunday.

From now on, Thursday will be the deadline for Match Recaps, so that I have enough time to piece them together before I send them to Joe. It's always a good idea to write how you win and lose each match that you send in. Otherwise, Joe will finish them up.

As for the Rumble, the recap can't be written until it's over, but remember that Joe usually posts the recaps on Sunday, so if you want to write something for it, you should get that done Saturday night and send it directly to him.

Thanks for the advice, Doc. Just one thing about deadlines, Pen.

With this last match I wrote up, I waited until after the results had been revealed before writing it up. That way I could maintain an overall vision of what sort of things should happen in the match. Having the deadline on Thursday makes that impossible, though I can see why you'd set it then.

That's why you should write two endings to the match.

Here's a great example (not to toot my own horn or anything ).

This is the alternate ending I wrote to my match in case Meeko and I lost. You can see where it would have gone:

Monroe: "High Holy Howe! This match is OVER!"

PenWing goes for the pin as the ref counts.

    Crowd: "ONE! TWO!"

James Fantastic pulls the ref out of the ring and quickly enters himself. As PenWing gets to his feet, James fantastic nails him with the brass knuckes.

Marcum: "Fantastic! I told you PenWing was a knuckle head!"

Fantastic then delivers a classy kick to Meeko, followed by a Fantastic Flip to PenWing. Finally, he pulls Tommy over PenWing, as Nuriko and Grace drag the ref back into the ring for the count.

Marcum: "One! Two! Three! NOW this match is over!"

Monroe: "Only because they cheated! PenWing had the match won! Fantastic had no business stepping into that ring!"

Marcum: "Did it occur to you that that's why he's called Fantasitc! The man is just, well, Fantastic! And he's a member of the Bastardo Family! There is no way anything can go wrong at the rumble with Fantastic around!"

PenWing, Sammitch, Sneaky Bunny, and Meeko collect themselves outside the ring as the Bastardo Family celebrates it's victory.

Then it would have cut to the screen with exactly the same ending to the show.

And the reason I had Fanastic run in with the brass knuckles is because I am not a fan of anyone kicking out of finishers. And I gave Tommy a double finisher, so he was out.

Honestly, I think you need to give more options than that. Simply writing in interferrence can come off as not wanting to lose if you do it too much, so be prepared to simply be pinned or tap out of a submission. Remember that just because that's the way you want it, that doesn't mean that's how a match will end. There's the consideration of the other posters to think about. I suggest that active posters talk to each other about their matches and work on a high spots recap or general overview of how the match will go before going whole hog and writing a full recap. This keeps everything balanced on everyone on good terms.

I have no problem being pinned legally. This just felt right for this match. My point in posting the alternate ending was that people should send in two endings to their matches, since we won't know the results until after the deadline.

And my point being to work with the other posters and create a storyline that both parties can deal with and be able to follow up on, thereby, cutting down on any sense of someone trying to put themselves over more than everyone else.

That's why I started the whole discussion on Match Recaps. The more we get people involved, even if it's just to give one little idea to the match, the better the outcome will be. I just need everyone to send their stuff to me by Thursday so that I have enough time to compile it before I pass it on to Joe. That's not to say they can't PM Joe on Saturday night, but that shouldn't become a habit.

If I get match endings from two different people, I'll pick the two situations that best highlight both sides of the match. Or I may combine them. I really won't know until I see what people send me.

I'll put the pressure on Joe to make sure that everyone, including myself, stays honest. In the end, he'll have the final say.

Keep something in mind when you send Recap material along: Just because someone sent me a "loss-by-interference" PM doesn't mean I'm gonna post a "loss-by-interference" match. I'll be using the PMs as guidelines and, if I really like what I read, I'll leave them as is. Otherwise I'll make changes, tweak spelling and grammar, and post the revised edition.

For example, I personally hate title matches (any matches, actually) that end with a title retained due to interference. However, if both posters agree to this or if the interference makes sense for the feud, I'll post interference. Also, I try and build the matches around the voting totals. The closer the vote, the closer the match. If a wrestler gets blown out in the voting, he gets blown out in the match. The only exception I think I've made to that "rule" is the Charlie/Nowhereman match, which was done with an eye on the voting, but also with respect to Nowhereman as an "icon" in the RDCW as well as Charlie's newness and hardcore style. Did it work? Yes and no. But they can't all be perfect, people.

To make a long post short, your input is invaluable. This is YOUR RDCW, and I'm not a mod, no matter how much I throw my weight around here (shut up Nowhereman or I'll tell everyone your real name). Just keep in mind that, as the "Recap Guy", I may change some stuff around or edit your atrocious grammar and spelling.

Cool. By the way, I now have a promo planned for Howlerama, but that will take place on next week's Havoc, after the rumble.

By the way, Pen, what exactly was Crotch doing?

I finished typing up the Recap of my match with Chris Oakley, complete with dual endings. That's right, it's Tuesday and I'm done with that match. I poured a ton of detail and action into it. I expect you guys to come up with some great ideas for your matches. They can be as long or as short as you like - in most cases, voting will only affect win/loss, not "how" (mine is a brutal, bloody war - voting results be damned!). Get your ideas to me and/or PenWing as soon as you can. I wanna blow the roof off this PPV. Let's make it so amazing that it sets a damn standard for Robblemania!!!

Uh...actually, the Chu...Champ's got a point. Don't worry about the Rumble itself. My last post was in reference to the undercard.

I can't believe you're still wearing that title...

By the way, how'd you like your prom?

Okay, a quick search on imdb shows that it was called "Good Morning Miss Bliss" when she was on it. BUT, it's also listed as "aka Saved by the Bell: The Junior High Years" which was it's title in syndication. Still, I am humbled by Joe Mama's knowledge of Saved by the Bell. Truly, Joe is the Saved by the Bell Master! None know more about Screech & Co. than Joe.

James sent me his recap, and Joe finished his match, so two are done. I'll be writing up my match shortly.

I'm still waiting for something from Nowhereman and Charlie.

On another note:

Why isn't anyone posting in the Rumble Undercard? Sure, Jonny Evil was great, but his debut and my interview make for a pretty lame show on their own. If every active wrestler makes one post, we've got a great show.

Send me what'cha got when you can. To answer your question, in my case, I preferred to focus my energy on the match than the promo. But I'll put something together...

Memo to PJP: if you thought what you said in your last post was funny, let me assure you that it wasn't.

How about writing a promo for the Rumble?

Speaking of promos,PenWing,I just posted one on the Rumble Undercard thread, intended to help set up both the groundwork for a match between me and PJP after the Rumble, and a subplot in the Bastardo Family dissension angle involving Nuriko and Grace. I think you guys'll get a kick out of it.

Why isn't anyone posting in the Rumble Undercard? Sure, Jonny Evil was great, but his debut and my interview make for a pretty lame show on their own. If every active wrestler makes one post, we've got a great show.

I posted something, and really, some words from the Champ are all you need for a good show.
