I haven't said anything much about your little "shoot" promo mostly because I was more interested in seeing where it led to. My original opinion was that you either had a lot of sack to do what you did, or you were just being a prick for prick's sake. Looks like the latter was true.

Maybe I stepped on toes with the shoot promo. But honestly, what the fuck else was I supposed to do. I had an idea for an angle, I ran with it. Oakley pulls shit out of his ass all the time and usually just gets a slap on the wrist.
The reason I stopped posting in our initial feud was that no matter how many promos I posted, things were still very one sided. Why bother when I know what the outcome's gonna be?

Those people are used when we need to set up a match that moves a storyline along. TK and Wednesday haven't been in title contention for a while. We've been pushing people who actually post with some regularity. Stareena and Sneaky fill a need in the Women's Division - you're not seriously complaining about the Women's Division, are you?

You know Snarf, I put a lot of effort into the promos and matches I write. It doesn't matter whether it's for me or someone else, I still treat it like my own. I put effort into Meeko and Lor, and others, because the people who participate in this forum, and the girls I write things for, appreciate my work. They read this forum to be entertained, and all the feedback I've gotten tells me that I have succeeded. I have worked with just about everyone who posts here on one angle or another since I've taken a more active role in booking. That includes you. I just lost the Cheese title I won from you to Joe Mama. Joe Mama didn't write that match. I did. I didn't cry about losing the poll. I sat down, and I wrote one of the best matches, if not the best match I have ever written for this forum. And for now, I have stepped aside so that someone else can get a shot at the title. That doesn't mean I won't invoke my rematch clause. I will, when the time is right. But for now, someone else is going to earn that spotlight of number one contender and quite possibly Big Cheese Champion. That's the way it works. If you want to step out, fine. When you put in effort, you wrote some great stuff. We all know what you are capable of, and any one of us would be willing to work with you on an angle. Ultimately, your fate is in your own hands. Impress the voters, and you'll win. Do nothing, and you won't. It really is that simple.

I appreciate the kind words. And you're absolutely right. But my main beef has been when the match write-ups DO NOT reflect the voting results. This has happened to me twice, and no one ran it by me. So I bring it up in the shoot promo to get a little heat, thinking "Hey here's something new, maybe this might prove interesting". Everyone says post something, so I did, and I get blasted for it. So, to make it short, I'm confused and upset.

So, you're basically saying that you don't care about anyone's work but your own. That fits. You might not like Oakley's angles, but at least he's working on them. The point is to work with people and not against them. You can influence write-ups by doings some work on them yourself. We've always said that voting is only a guideline and that we take the liberty to write up matches in ways that will make them more interesting or further a storyline. If you're not working on a storyline and not participating in a write-up, your character looses his voice and is relegated. Want it to change? Do some work.

Now, everyone needs to write out the smallest details and insert pithy commentary from the announcers. "Kayfabe" is essentially wrestling-slang for "in character". For example, when Hogan talks about how he's gonna beat up Shawn Michaels, that's talking in kayfabe. Conversely, when the Rock talks about he and Steve Austin work together to put on a match and essentially confirms the notion that wrestling is predetermined, that's known as "breaking kayfabe".

Have you been reading SPAMM's promos lately? Very short and to the point, and very funny. You don't have to write long promos, you don't have to write an interview, you don't have to write commentary in the promo. When I first started, I didn't do any of that. I just came out to the ring and talked about my match. It helped me to work with Oakley, because he and I worked together to sell our feud. We'd take turns posting first, and the second poster would get the physical shots in. But as I continued to work on my character, I wanted to add things into the post to make it more entertaining. I worked hard to get a grasp for how Monroe and Marcum would react to a situation, and I use that when I write up match recaps as well. I don't always add commentary to my posts, but if I can, I do, because in a real show, the announcers never shut up. But that's just me. Other people have done the same, probably because they want that same effect from their posts. But not everyone does that. No one has to. It's a personal decision.
As for the lengths of the promos, sometimes it just works that way. Sometimes a poster has a lot to say. And those posts are important because they often give us more to work with in response to the character. No one has to write a long promo, but it happens. Sometimes it happens a lot. If you want to participate in the forum, you have to read other people's work. Why should they read your work if you don't want to read theirs? And if you don't like that someone is making long posts, then start a feud with the person. The longer the post, the more ammunition the poster is providing you for your own promo. Look at what Joe wrote on Meeko's Mic Night. I used some of it, and Sammitch took off with it.
You don't like that Meeko's Mic Night was one continuous post? It looked too long for you? That's just too bad. It was originally just going to be the interview with Joe. But in talking with Joe, I suggested that I would make a post right after it to say that I was not invoking my rematch. I figured that would help open the door for other people to respond. But Joe wasn't able to send me his lines until the weekend, and I didn't get online until Saturday night. It happened that Sammitch was on, so I asked if he wanted to accept the challenge, and my post became part of the larger promo as a segue to introduce Sammitch. Sammitch sent me his lines at 2 am Sunday morning. I was sleeping. What was I supposed to do? Was I supposed to post Meeko's Mic Night with Monroe, and then post my promo to introduce Sammitch, and then hold everyone up so that Sammitch could post hours later? I don't think so. I posted the entire promo Sunday afternoon when I got home from work. One promo, one post. Three different contributors.
You didn't want to read that? Then maybe the other guys are right. Maybe this isn't for you. If you don't have the respect to read what other people put effort into, then why should we care to work with you? It's a two-way street.
I do have some ideas to run by you, if and when you're interested. But it's entirely up to you if you want to participate in any of this. My advice is take a step back and just read, and I mean really read, what we are posting. Read the promos. Read the recaps. Do that for a few weeks. Watch how everything gets put together. It's not easy to book this show. There is a lot to keep track of, and even with four of us working at it, we still sometimes miss something. We're only human. But for the most part, it's a smooth operation. Why? Because the people who want to succeed contribute and communicate with us and each other, and that creates a flow in the writing. That's how it works.

As for the original remark about promo's should be about the match and nothing else, that would be really boring. Plus, it never works that way in real wrestling. I view Promo spots as, essentially, character spots. In pretty much all of my recent promo's, I never say a word about the match, I mostly just make jokes at the expense of my character.
I know you seem to be quite into this hwole joke routine, which is cool, but I'd say there's one big difference between the way your character and mine work. You want to be in the Big Cheese title shot, and I just wanna be around.
Imagine if Doink the Clown had been given the WWF title, at any point. Can you honestly say you would have kept watching? Then, imagine if he cut promo's only occasionally and effectively removed the title belt from proper contension. Wouldn't you just HATE that? I know I would, and I never even saw Doink.
Then, look at Raven's recent TNA run as World Heavyweight Champion. He cut great promo's frequently, worked a shitload of matches and genrally made the belt a serious object. THAT is how it should be done.
Now, I know RDCW isn't real, but I don't honestly see that as an excuse. Guys who are into jokey promo's are fine as wrestlers, but not as holders of the main title. Certainly I have no interest in holding the Big Cheese Championship, nor really in holding any title of any sort (not that I'd turn one down...).
