I liked seeing another Lex seeing the future thing, but the rest of the episode was lacking.

And the person responsible for getting Lionel out of prison (which happened too soon I think)? Margot Kidder of course! Well we don't know yet...but that's my guess.

I don't know, wasn't she the surprise person in the limo a couple months ago? I doubt they will have the same person again. The person in the limo is someone more powerful than Lionel, which leads you to believe that it could be Lex.

it could be lex. it could be the swan association (another billionaire that lionel knew about). it could be the thought-dead lex's grandparents. it could be zod! (!). it could be that other billionaire that lionel knew from his past, and was last seen a season or two ago.

regardless, i did like the episode. i've found that this season is especially polarizing for the fans, with many loving it and many hating it.

i just like the evolution of all of the characters. yes, there are little gaps here and there (like, for starters... the notion of "high school"), but whatever. i diggit.

No that's when they air all the holiday specials...that no one watches cause they're out shopping.

I watched parts of Crusade. What happened to Lex needing his blood purified? The show hasn't touched that since then.

They also haven't said who tried to kill Chloe. I wonder if it has anything to do with the person who got Lionel out of prison.

Good point, I really thought that would be the whole motivation for this season. No Kryptonian stones, no Lex's sickness, and nothing with Lionel possibly being set up. Kind of disappointing really, but I'm still loving the show. I'd love it more if Michael Ironside was in it more.

New Episode this wednesday...for those who still care for the show.

Quote:

The WB has made available the following description for the 11th episode of Season 4 of "Smallville". Titled "Unsafe", this episode is due to air in the U.S. on Wednesday January 26th at 8pm. Here's the official description from the WB...

"Claiming to be cured, Alicia (guest star Sarah Carter) is released from Belle Reve hospital and comes to Smallville to rekindle her relationship with Clark (Tom Welling). Initially skeptical of Alicia, Clark finds himself enjoying a relationship with someone who knows his secret, but when she pushes for more he hesitiates, causing her to use red kryptonite on him. 'Bad Clark' emerges and whisks Alicia off to get married in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) decides to have sex with Jason (Jensen Ackles) in order to win him back."
Greg Beeman directed the episode, which was written by Jeph Loeb and Steven DeKnight.

The Superman homepage also has info for more episodes. One includes the return of the witch spirit that took over Lana ( ).

Clark getting married: Stupid

Lana wanting to give it up to Jason: Stoopid!

Stupid show. It's turned into just another WB show. It's supposed to be Superman, this is not Superman. I'm going to have to get my Superman fix elsewhere.

Yeah I know, I started watching it but then flipped over to Hallmark channel, which I just found out I now have the other day, and watched Touched By An Angel instead, even though I'd seen that one before.

Whenever I tuned back to Smallville I just couldn't stomach watching it, it was just so wrong. How did Clark not realize she put red k in the necklace? You'd think he'd notice right away.

Seriously though, I did like the little PSA at the end about sex. That got the show a few points.

The Jimmy Olsen reference was funny. The rest of the episode was OK. Clarks whiney speech about never finding a girlfriend wanted me to vomit.

Even though I found it uneasy during parts of this episode, it isn't often I see a new show where the lesson is about SAVING virginity. Normally you won't see a virgin on television or a movie unless the whole plot revolves around getting them to give it up. At least Lana and Clark made it three seasons.

The other lesson here is about second chances. Do any of us deserve a second chance? Or are we so wrapped up in our own agendas that we wouldn't know a precious gift if it bludgeoned us over the head? There's only one way to find out: Give the gift, and see if anyone's brave enough to accept it. Elisha messed up her second chance, and even though Clark had a tear in his eye as a result, he did the right thing and decided not to see her anymore.

I acutally liked Elisha when she appeared last season, that is, the way she and Clark met and the date, but only up to the part where she teleported into his room. She could have been handled better and maybe even stuck around for a few episodes, like Lex's fiancee and Jason. I suppose all kryptonite powered humans have to be psycho freaks.

Because he was blinded by his feelings for her, and couldn't see himself with anyone else unless they, too, had a unique gift/curse that makes one feel utterly alone. That kind of emotional involvement tends to cloud one's judgement, even make it impossible to be objective about the big picture. I can tell, because his disappointed mother can't get through to him that there's someone else out there. His time will come, he just doesn't realize it yet, even if we do.

I myself have been a victim of the "put out or get/stay out" line from someone right out a stereotype catalog, and I don't see how anyone listens to that and gives in, so for Lana to not listen to that and want to give in? Yeah, stoopid as a parachute that only opens on impact. No wonder Clark hasn't told her his secret; she may have no concept of sacredity. And I thought that hot tub offer Clark got at the beginning of the show was bad. The witch DID leave her body, didn't she?

There is no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes, and maybe it’s too much for us, but it’s all on you. Because if we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we’ll avenge it.

Thanks!

Whatever they do with Elisha, she will hopefully realize why she won't eventually marry Clark.

There's a reason Clark gave up a chance to be a normal human being and went after the out-of-control kid to whom his powers were transferred to. There's a reason Clark tried to keep Whitney and Lana from breaking up, even though he could have used his (possibly) only chance to be with Lana himself. There's a reason he turned down Elisha's offer to move to California, even though he had a special connection with her that doesn't come easy. Clark is just the kind of person that puts the greater good before his own personal feelings. He was found by the Kents, not the Luthors. Elisha couldn't/didn't accept that, wanting him to move with her so badly that she stopped at nothing to get what she wanted, and she almost did because Clark trusted her with his secret. Believe me, given the chance, there are many more out there who'd have pulled a similar succubus stunt with Red K if they knew what it would do.

The vivacious, stubborn, and opinionated Lois, unless I'm mistaken, has never used Kryptonite against Clark. That's what it really means to be trusted with a secret, even though she once toyed with another weakness of his that was mentioned in Adventures of Superman #505. (Go ahead. Look. I'll wait.)

Let's see what happens tonight..

Edit: She's toast now. Yep, saw that coming. Though Welling's acting job of being all crushed wasn't too believable. You can tell Jeph Loeb was part of this episode.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I thought LAST week was about second chances. How many did Clark plan to give Elisha? It looks like his feelings were mixed. He wanted to work things out, yet he was within his right to not fully trust her about the attempted murders. "I know I tried to kill you and Lana in the past, I know I used Red K on you, and I know you caught me without my bracelet, but I swear to you I am innocent this time." She took a bullet to protect Clark's secret, yet she couldn't protect that same secret from Chloe. Clark needn't feel responsible; he's saved more lives than he could ever hope to endanger.

But poor Elisha. She didn't deserve her fate. Her methods were whacked, but all she wanted was to be open about who and what she is, and to invite Clark along for the adventure. There were many others that had no secret identity at times. There was Supergirl (Matrix), Steel, Damage, Superboy (Kon-El). I suppose it was more important to preserve the Clark/Superman double life that is so so essential to the mythos. Perhaps in another lifetime things could have worked out for the better. Being faster than a speeding bullet is one thing, but she could have teleported him to places he never knew existed and will never want to leave. I'm not just talking about California either.

I get the feeling Lois was only put in this episode to keep Clark from crossing the line. That sure won't be the last time Lois does something like that for him. I just hope they don't overuse the "we don't kill" message like they did in the last two episodes of Birds of Prey. AND I hope they don't give Chloe amnesia. They've done that once before, even though Chloe had that bug in her that made her reckless.

i dunno...

if there's one thing the characters in this show have, its a terrible memory.

everyone in the beginning of the show is all pissed off and freaked out by alicia, because she went crazy and had a run in with lana. ...however...

formerly in this town, lana has been a witch and tried to murder the town. lois, too. and chloe. chloe has also been possesed and tried to kill lois. jason has tried to kill clark. much of which has occurred in the past few weeks, and yet... everyone seems to be getting along fine, now.

similarly, in the witch episode, i remember clark telling his parents that something happened because of magic. ma and pa laughed it off and said something like "there's no such thing as magic"

um... you're son is a fucking space alien!

...anyway...

i thought this episode was awesome. one of the best ones in along time. alicia is not only hot, but she's a great side character for clark to mingle with, because of her unique perspective on life. however, just as cool, in death, she'll mean a lot more to him without getting the opportunity to fuck it up cuz she's psycho.

in that same strain, i love the forward progression! a main character dying. cool. a main character learning clark is superman. cool. all new things that rarely play themselves out in their comic book counterpart.

Isn't that two completely different things? Just because someone knows for a fact that aliens exist, doesn't mean they believe in magic.

Agreed. Aliens and meteor freaks may be a hard concept to grasp but its still scientifically explainable.

Ok I'm a bit lost having missed an entire season, but where's Pete? He's still shown in the opening credits.

Also who was the guy that killed Alicia? Which, btw, I knew it wasn't hear by the way the killer left, it looked more like sand than green sparklies. Was he supposed to be like Metamorpho, or was I the only one that thought that? My initial thought was Sand, but then when he turned his arm into lead and hit Clark, I then thought Metamorpho.
