What do you think of it? I remember loving the first episode of that season and kinda enjoying the rest.

The season finale cliff hanger is one of the best I've ever seen for any show.

I'm getting ready to start Disc 3 (of 6), so I still have a ways to go. It feels like they've been reaching ever since Season 2 to try to get back to where they were in those first couple of seasons. Mia Maestro is hotter than any woman who has yet been on the show, so that's a plus. Other than that, I really feel like I'm just waiting...

Season two was the best season on this show. I really can't remember too much about season four but in season five they try to do all the good parts of season one and two again. They also spend a lot of time setting up two new characters (brooding guy and tits) for a spin-off that never happened. The season finale was great though.

Because you said they were reaching from the 2nd season to try to be like the first couple of seasons.
The first couple of seasons would have been seasons 1 & 2, so how could season 2 be reaching to be like season 2?

If it helps, I meant that they were reaching since the end of Season Two or from Season Two on.

At any rate, I just finished Season Four tonight and will probably be need to getting to Season Five ASAP. Great cliffhanger... and one that totally broadsided me (and the characters).

Still, I'm off to watch "Battlestar Galactica 2.5" now...!

Fantastic Four - 16 episodes from the original, first Fantastic Four cartoon from 1966. A friend made this for
me, and we both wonder why this has not been released to the public on a commercially produced dvd, as it is the best FF show, IMO, and that is counting the two or three other FF cartoons that followed it, and the mediocre movie from summer '05.

Ok, so I got my copy of Superman Returns in the post this morning, so finally got round to seeing it.
Now I will be the first to admit that Superman is quite possibly my least favourite superhero of all time, but the first two Superman films have a special place in my heart as I went to see the first movie at the cinema when it came out, and as an 8 year old, the film blew me away.
The second one of course featured the Phantom zone criminals, so that got extra points as well!

Now, I had heard this new film continued on from 2, and ignored 3 & 4 ever existed, which obviously isnt a bad thing.

First opinions going in was that I didnt like the look of Routh of Bosworth as Supes & Lois, but Spacey was perfect as Luthor!
Upon watching the movie, my opinion remains unchanged!

Routh is just too skinny as Superman & as Clark he looks almost plastic.
And as for Bosworth, she neither looked like a Lois Lane or acted like a Lois Lane.
Both Kidder & Hatcher were awesome, and natural as Lois, but Bosworth could have been called "Random chick" for all I cared.

Langella, a guy who I do like, just didnt say "Perry White" to me either.

Spacey though, was awesome as Lex, so of course he didnt get anywhere near enough screen time.

Special mention should go to the guy who played Jimmy Olsen, who I felt was perfect for the role.

And just as a quick question, Parker Posey seemed to be playing an almost identical role to the Miss Testmarker (sp?) character from years ago.

Now I was incredibly happy to hear the theme music remained unchanged, as it is an important part of linking this to the original movies, and defo brings back memories of better times.

As for the story, I found myself incredibly bored during the first hour or so, as like Batman Begins, they stretched this movie out longer than would be normal, to fit in all the backstory, but unlike Batman Begins, there was nothing here to really grab the audience, and was to dull & slow paced!

Once you get into the meat & potatoes of the film, it just seemed like a rehash of the older Superman movies.
As much as we accept Luthor as Supermans main nemesis, it would be nice to see Supes go up against someone equal to, or more powerful than himself to create some great fight scenes.
I mean, with modern special effects, how many people would love to see a return of Non, Ursa & Zod?
There are so many other enemies to draw on from Supermans rogues gallery that would make an interesting protagonist in a movie!

While I felt the film wasnt bad, it could have been so much better.

Rather than watching a new film, I felt I was watching a remake of the first film.

I know its unfair to compare Routh to Reeve, but it cant be helped, and quite frankly he didnt hold a candle to him!
As sad as it sounds, purely based on "the look", I'd have rather seen Dean Cain return fer fucksake!

Dean Cain? No way dude. Sure this guy wasnt as classic as Reeve but he did him justice. He really studied Reeve's idiosynchratic Clark AND Supes in my opinion. Especially when he speaks to the plane passengers in Superman's old school deadpan delivery. This kid brought to the table much more than I expected from him.

Thats why I said "based on looks", and that was my problem with him.
He was great as a Reeve clone as far as the acting, but the way he looked just ruined it all!

If they coulda got Dean Cain to learn to act, then that woulda been great!

With Reeve, he trained with Dave "Darth Vader" Prowse to bulk himself up without being overly muscular, but Routh looked like he worked out for tight muscle rather than bulking up, which isnt what the Superman look should be about.
Its not really his fault, as he would not be able to bulk himself up like that due to his physique.
Also, another minor quibble was that he looked way too young (ditto for Lois).
Neither of them looked much older than Olsen!

While Superman doesnt need muscles to be powerful, his size was always one of the things the older movies & the comic books have used to make him look more imposing & impressive!

I think your memories of Reeve's physique are betraying you, Nowhereman...He's no more filled out than Routh.

Two things to consider.
Reeve was taller & wider, which neither of thos pictures show, but also just compare those necks!

Reeves looks like a magic marker compared to Rouths pencil!

King Kong (2005 Jackson remake)
Brokeback Mountain

I like all three a lot.

Just picked up Star Wars 1-3 as I had avoided seeing them til a box set came out, but as I was able to pick them up in a 3 for £20 sale, I decided I couldnt be bothered waiting for a box set.

I am doing what I had originally planned, and am watching all three back to back!
