Still working my way through this  Every single episode (plus the 2000 movie) spread over 26 discs is gonna take a while, especially when I keep watching other stuff as well! And since I got a new 42" plasma tv last Friday, I feel like watching some "epic" movies from my collection that need to be seen in big screen for the first time!

Oh, and speaking of overrated movies, I just watched Happy Feet. How could such a dull movie with such unremarkable characters and such a hamhanded "moral lesson" win the Oscar for best animated feature? Even Open Season was 100 times better than this.

Ok, I gotta say something about Casino Royale.
I hadnt been too happy about the relaunch of the franchise, and I wasnt happy about the choice of Craig as Bond, but like I said, I'd still give it a chance, and I had to buy it for the collection anyway, so I finally got round to watching it tonight!
While I felt the film was good, it just didnt feel like a Bond film.
Although they tried to make you feel "at home" with certain little trademark Bondisms (The names Bond, James Bond..........vodka martini etc), there was very little else that felt like I was watching the same character I'd watched since a kid!
My biggest gripe though was the traditional Bond bullet shot sequence.
It looked fucking horrible, and lacked the standard "walk on, turn, shoot and blood flows" motif.
We got the shooting and the blood, but the rest (including the music, was missing).
It might seem a small point, but as a Bond purist, that is the one thing that should not have been altered too heavily.

i understand what your saying with the bullet sequence. i just took it as kind of a origin for the bullet sequence as if they were saying "this is where it comes from." But i would expect it to be back to normal for the next bond...

And I kinda have to agree with you, Pig-Dave. I didn't like Transporter 2 as much as I did the first one. It was too over the top in some places. It was decent action movie and story. I just wish they hadn't gone so CGI happy. They should have kept some stunts simpler.

The second Transporter was so OTT that it was brilliant!
The whole ridculousness of the effects turned a so-so story into an entertaining film!

Crank was fun and, I don't think, as over the top as Transporter 2. As Pig-Dave said I was basing this movie on the previous one. I'm not saying that it was bad or even completely over the top. It's just that there were some moments, like the car flip, that were too much. Had they only done one, I'd probably dismiss it; but they did several which got kinda Michael Bay on us.

I liked the first Transporter as well, but I think they made the right decision to change styles for the sequel.
I think the way the first film was structured, a sequel in the same style just woulda been a bit boring.
