Yeah...that's what I thought before I went to a formal dinner/dance with a female "friend" of mine. Then I got in the limo and she chloroformed me. Attending a Baptist College is definitely not a means of birth control -- unwed pregnancies in Christian colleges are almost as high as in secular colleges.

Sorry, I didn't mean to say that YOU were going to do anything you didn't plan on doing, I was just making more of a general "sad but true" statement. I've seen too many friends and acquaintances who are followers of Christ end up getting pregnant or getting their girlfriends pregnant. The temptations are always there.
BTW, have you ever checked out Don Raunikar's Choosing God's Best or Joshua Harris' I Kissed Dating Goodbye? They're basically promoting the concept of Christian courtship as opposed to dating. They're not for me, but you might find them useful.
OH MY GOSH!!!!!!JOSH HARRIS IS SOO COOL! And he's cute to boot even if he is married ;p My dad insisted both of his girls read the,"I kissed dating goodbye" book. My sister didn't like it but I LOVED IT! He was a fabulous writer, in fact my sister bought the next one he and his wife wrote. Tragically...she gave it to a friend before I could read it! I'll definately have to check out Don's book (cuz I havent yet), I just always liked the story of Ruth in the Bible ya know? If God can bring those two together (not to mention Isaac and Rebekah's awesome love story) then why can't he bring me to whomever I'm supposed to be with? That's what Ive always thought anyways...

Romantic Contact in general is not a bad thing. Only when it's led passed the boundaries i.e. excessive kissing, petting, making out, does it become a bad thing and in my view sinful. So I've made the choice not to ever! My sister has done so several times and she comes back feeling shamed and abused.
My heartfealt belief is that all intimate contact between a man and a woman is to be held strictly in the sacred bonds of marriage (by intimate see i.e. above). This of course is because I believe in the authority of the Bible to set guidelines in relationships: 1 Peter 4 for example, "for we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkeness, revelries, orgies, and abominable idolatries. Therefore since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he should no longer spend the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God."

My parents made it through choosing not to have sex till after they got married and have been together 30 something years. My grandparents didnt even kiss till their wedding day and were married till my grandfather died. So they were married pretty happily for 59 years!

im not talking about anything sexual, but i mean if u dont get even the minimal amount of intimacy ie small amounts of kissing and hugging isnt it hard to solidify a relationship. If your not gonna kiss, your gonna have to find one saint of a guy.
