I'll doubt I'll see it. At least not in a theater. Movie tickets are too expensive to pay to see a movie getting, at best, lukewarm reviews, just because it is based on a comic book...especially when there are a lot of other, better reviewed, movies out there to see.

Honestly, if you're not going to see it based on one or two reviews, then really you're basing the idea that is sucks on someone else's opinion. (BTW - I mean "you" as a generic "you" not you personally, G-man.) I have no problem forking over my hard earned money for something that is done in a genre that I love. I'd rather see it and form my own opinion than automatically dismiss it based on someone else's. Even seeing trailer's isn't enough IMO. If I like it, I will see it more than once (Batman - 3x's and counting), and if I don't then I won't.
If I have absolutely no interest in it (Catwoman, Elektra, Hulk - none of which I've seen) then being a comic book fan isn't enough to get me into the theatre.
Additionally, I cannot count the number of times I've read glowing reviews of a movie and ended thinking it royally sucked. (and vice versa.) So, its off to the movies I go and I'll see for myself if its good or not...

I didn't mean to imply that one or two reviews were enough. However when, as in my case, the trailers left me cold and the six or seven reviews I read-from reviewers whose opinions often correspond to mine-I don't see the point in going to the film.
Once I get to that point, its sort of like tasting sour milk after three or four other people have already tasted it and told me a sour. What's the point?

This thing reeks of "Daredevil" syndrome - too many stories being used in one movie, special effects that leave me cold, and a soundtrack that's too poppy/mainstream/MTV for its own good. I'll wait for Rotten Tomatoes to give me a full tally before I see this. Besides, I still have to see War Of The Worlds and I have too many DVDs to watch still.

Stayed at home today (sick) and just watched Elektra just because.
Given all the negative reviews, which killed it, I figured it was going to suck. I don't know where all the venom in the reviews came from, because although it wasn't great, it was actually still pretty good. So, reviews aside, I'm still gonna see FF...

Unfortunately, and I am not making this up, her favorite films of all time is "Glitter," so that's not exactly a ringing endorsement.

I'm a comic book fan from waay back and I've been anticipating this movie for some time. Despite the intitial pans it's getting, I'm taking the kids this weekend.
I hope you and the kids enjoy it. Let us know what you think. I'd love Rotten Tomatoes and the Globe to be wrong - I think we need more GOOD comics-related movies. Just, so far, I don't see this as one (though casting Chiklis was a great move).

Judging from everything I have seen, read, and have been forced to swallow from the over-hype media/merchandise machine, I have absolutely no interest in seeing Fantastic Four.
It seems to be a noted trend that if a movie is shoved down my throat at every turn, and overly-merchandised in every market of every possible type of product (i.e. Hulk, Sith, etc.) then, odds are good, there is a sizable compensation syndrome that the studios are trying to overcome. Odds are, it's going to be lame, and, they are simply trying to sell it to me however they possibly can.
FF? No thanks. Like Punisher, Elektra, Catwoman, Constantine, and the like, I simply don't think I'll waste my money reinforcing Hollywood's belief that everyone will stomach subpar fluff dressed up in pretty CGI.
Just my opinion...

I know. And the mostly negative reviews I'm hearing about (trying not to read any reviews, really) have disheartened me. It amazes me how the same producers that have given us the SPIDER-MAN and X-MEN movies are also the ones who've done DD and HULK.
If nothing else, I'm interested in seeing the visuals for this. I've also wanted to see the FF realized on the big screen.
