In Friday I saw an episode in which Enterprise investigates an nebula while an alien pretends to be a girl's imaginary friend. Had a John Wyndham*-feel to it.

*It reminded me about
1) the film The Village of the Damned, based on the novel The Midwich Cuckoos, about a town in which kids with pale skin and hynotic powers are born, and behave like Nazis or Commies.
2) the novel Chocky, about a kid who has an imaginary friend who is in fact an alien (who is nicer than the one in the ST:TNG episode).

"When The Bough Breaks" and " Coming of Age" on G 4 tonite.

First one is where an alien race kidnaps 7 kids from the Enterprise, including Wesley.

Second one - The Enterprise is being investigated.. and
Wesley takes tests to gain early entrance to the academy.

Both ok, both pretty bland.

Some really good episodes are coming soon, though.

I like the one where the twin alien midgets make Riker's holodeck woman so real he doesn't realize they're stealing the ship.

That was first year, right?

Correct, Pro! And can you tell me the name of the Holo - woman? She was beautiful!

"Heart Of Glory" was just on. This is the very first Worf episode. It's great!

It's easily one of the very best first season episodes.

Love the part in the beginning when Geordi is able to use a link from his visor to allow the Enterprise crew to see things aboard an alien ship as he sees them. This was facinating!

There are three Klingons on the ship.

Are they friend or foe?

I like this early look into Worf's character very much!

Yesterday, "Disaster" was on! This is a very good 5 th season episode. The Enterprise gets hit with a quantum filament, and is bady damaged. Picard is stuck in an elevator with 3 kids, Geordi and Dr. Crusher are stuck in a cargo bay with a plasma fire, Data and Riker try to get to engineering while a pregnant Keiko goes into labor.

Today on Spike Tv : " The Game", an analogy for just saying NO to drugs. Pretty good!

"A Matter of Time".... I still say that having that creepy guy from Max Headroom arrive in a time machine is a piss poor substitute for seeing the TARDIS arrive on the bridge of the Enterprise, and having Tom Baker step out of it and offer Captain Picard a jelly baby.

I forget what the third episode was, as I fell asleep during
" A Matter of Time."

There was no Trek on G4 as they showed Horror movies instead. Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

Today on Spike tv, " Hero Worship" was on. This is in my top ten all time fav. Next Gen. episodes. Data rescues a young boy from a badly damaged ship. The boy begins to imitate Data. Very cute! My fav. part : When the boy, Timothy, and Data are in sick bay. They are both sitting on a medical cot. Dr. Crusher is examining the boy. She says, " Transfer circuits functioning properly." The kid asks her, " Then I am functioning within normal parameters?" Dr. Crusher tells him yes.

Data and the boy look at each other, then at the Doctor, and in unison they say, " Thank you, Doctor!"

After that, " Violations" and " The Masterpiece Society" were both on. Bleh. They are very so - so.

Tonight on G4: " Skin Of Evil", which just ended, and " Symbiosis". which just started.

" Skin of Evil" is easily one of the best first season episodes.

" Symbiosis" = BLEH.

I've found myself more interested in the Deep Space Nine reruns lately than the Next Generation ones. I feel like I've watched every episode of THG a million times. DS9 just seems more interesting to me now.

DS9 is superior in many ways. While TNG is considered the quintessential Trek, DS9 covered all the bases TNG never successfully accomplished. War, life, death, politics, religion, sex. DS9 is the more "mature" of the Trek's. From Season 3 on, the show really took off and carved a substantial niche in the Trek verse. It's my favorite...

I like DS 9 a lot. ST:TNG is my fav., is all. Wish Voyager reruns hadn't gotten taken off. Some episodes were pretty good!

Did you guys like that Baseball episode of DS9, where Sisko had a bet with a Vulcan about which of their teams could win in a game? I like that one a lot!

I'd love to see a movie that ties up all the loose ends from the very LAST DS 9 episode!

Okay, " Conundrum" was on Spike tv today. I was very tired but I watched it. It was ok.

I didn't bother watching whatever two episodes followed it.

I took a nap with the tv set to G4. I woke up at the beginning of " We'll always have Paris." I guess I was in the mood for it because I enjoyed it.

" Conspiracy" is on now. This is the best episode from the first season. It is also the last one. The tone and mood of it are more like a fourth season episode. It's just a very good watch.

And I screwed up! Conspiracy is NOT the last episode of the first season... The Nuetral Zone is.

A fine episode, at that...

Trivia Fact: Professor Manhiem from " We'll Always have Paris" was in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" juts a year after the Next Gen episode he was in was filmed. Both the episode and the movie dealt with time travel, and in BOTH, present selves met their past selves.

I think that is NOT a coincidence.

Trivia Question:

The actor who played Manhiem .. can anyone tell me what historical figure he played in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure?

Pro : you identified Q correctly! Actually, I thought it was Thomas Riker that appeared in DS9, as a renegade?

I must have missed the ones in DS 9 and Voyager with Riker. Thought I'd seen all the episodes, too!

In what capacity did Riker and Troi appear in Enterprise? I missed that one, too! Was the final episode a good one?

It was Thomas Riker in DS9. However, I guess I've always counted those two as the same guy in my head.

I saw previews of a Voyager episode where Q appears, and, for some reason, transports Riker aboard as well. Never watched it.

And, the final episode of ENT detailed the signing of the Federation Charter, and the last voyage of the NX-1701 under the command of Jonathan Archer. Riker and Troi were running the events of the episode itself in the holodeck, as a historical simulation. Riker played the part if the ship's chef. Alot of fans didn't like the way they crossed over with TNG as a last episode. But, I thought it rocked.

The ending was really sweet. Take a look...this begins as Riker and Troi are watching the signing of the Federation charter...

Thank you for that video, Pro! If that was just a tiny bit of that episode, than, sometime, I must see all of it.

Loved the bit with the ships.... *sigh*.

Fifth season has some VERY good episodes in it.

Darmok
Hero Worship
The Inner Light
I, Borg
The Game
The Next Phase
Disaster
The Outcast
Cause and Effect
Time's Arrow part 1

Between the 3 rd, 4 th, 5 th and 6 th seasons, that was the best that Next Gen got. Some 2 nd and 7 th season eps were very good, too. 1 st season/ VERY uneven, but with a few gems in it.
