I am watching Star Trek : Enterprise. It is ok. "Unexpected " is on, where a crewMAN is pregnant.

The other Star Trek shows are not on today, as it is Martin Luther King's birthday.

Not hard to believe. ENT is a damn good show. It started slow like all Treks. But, by the third and fourth year, it was rocking steady. Of course, that's when Paramount pulled the plug...

What I like about Enterprise is how problems don't go away at the end of each episode. The Vulcans are being assholes, and this is carrying over from episode to episode.

Enterprise had its moments. Wait till year 4, that year is great. They explain why the Vulcans are such dicks here and how they got to be better and nicer in TOS. It has to do with Surrak's writings.

I'm looking forward to that!

I liked the episode last night when two crewmen were trapped on that comet and Captain Archer had to swallow his pride and ask the Vulcan guy for help rescuing them.

And the other one, where the Andorians take over that Vulcan temple.

Paris was shite. He was rebellious for about 2 episodes then fell in line like a good little bitch!
Was there a decent character on that show other than the Doctor? Nope!

" One Little Ship " was just on, fantastic episode with Dax, Bashir and O'Brien being shrunk to tiny size in a runabout. They find they are able to help save the Defiant and her crew from The Dominion. Nicely done!

Love the bit of humor at the end by Odo, who claims not to have a sense of humor!

I loved the mini futuristic circuit board. And seeing the tiny torpedos blow the Jemhader apart.

Yeah, the mini torpedos were pretty cool! .....

After that was Next Generation - " A Matter Of Honor. " - good episode! We see more about Klingons and how they eat, behave on their ships, and stuff.

" THe Measure Of A Man " - a great one! Data is on trial - is he alive? Is he the property of Starfleet? - Though I feel that this ought to have been a given and not had to be established.. it was done quite well.

I taped and have not watched Voyager yet.

This, apparently, was in the running as Enterprise's opening theme.

I would have preferred THAT opening theme to the one they used, Doctor.

" The Dauphin " - Easily one of the BEST second season
Next Gen eps! Only one better is " Q Who. "

After that, " Contagion " - Sick sister ship to Enterprise gives it a contagious disease which it got from downloading info from planet Iconia. Not bad.

I taped and did not watch DS9, will watch later.

Am taping Voyager, to watch later, too.

DS 9 - " Change Of Heart " was just on... Worf and Dax are on a mission to save millions of people; Dax is seriously injured and Worf must choose : Save her, or save the millions of people... VERY good episode!

Now : Next Generation : " The Royale " is on... not a good one, but good if you want to kill an hour.....

After that : " Time Squared " - Picard meets his twin. who survived the destruction of "his " Enterprise.

It would have been a lot better if they'd let us know who set the trap... say, Q for instance?

Okay, so I just finished watching " Time Squared ", and I really enjoyed it. I watched it with a friend on my couch instead of sitting at the computer and looking up at it every few minutes. He liked the episode, too. More fun when you are not watching the show by yourself.

This episode was followed up in three seasons later by " Cause and Effect ", another good "time loop " episode.

I saw DS9, with the epsiode where Kira goes back in time to see if her mother was a traitor as she suspected. Great show where the lesson is to accept your parents as they are.

Next Gen : " Icarus Factor " - Riker sees his father again. They don't get along so well. Riker is offered a command on a ship destined for a dangerous sector.

Will makes peace with his father. ( Sort of )

This is a good issue to work on. Many have problems with their fathers, so it's something people can relate to.

" Pen Pals " - Data discovers an alien child on a stressed planet , asking for help. This brings up the Prime Directive, and a debate : Should the Enterprise help the girls' planet?

I feel that they did the right thing in helping.

Since there have been bugs in this website I haven't been able to post, and I've discovered that I have to use Firefox to be able to log in and post without getting error messages.

Anyway, ST:TNG has ended and re-started. Have so far seen:

All Good Things pt. 1-2. That was a great series finale, I remember that I've seen about half of the 2nd part some years earlier.

Journey's End: The Saga of Star Trek (The Next Generation?). A documentary with Jonathan Frakes A.K.A. Will Riker as host, several behind-the-scenes shots, and more. Frakes was quite self-deprecating and funny! And Brent Spiner looks like "one of us" when he's not wearing make-up! I guess he used contact lenses when he played Data. One interesting fact is that the man who played Quark in DS9 also played one of the first four Ferengis in Season 1! He was the one who talked the most.

And thus begins the re-run of Season 1:

Encounter at Farpoint pt 1-2. Missed both earlier. Had low expectations but they're not THAT bad, a pity how the editing was made (triumphant score when the Enterprise is in perile, which takes away the excitement), and Wesley got a bad start. Decent mystery, good first appearence of Q.

The Naked Now. I've seen it so I only missed 'Encounter...'.

Code of Honor. This episode, if anyone, reminds me how similar Season 1 is to The Original Series.

'The first Ferengi episode'. Didn't catch the title I'm afraid. I quite liked it, the sleazyness of the Ferengis and the long, lost Empire bit.

Captain Sweden, the first season of Next Generation is my least favorite, but " The Naked Now " is one of my faves from that season.

What I like about it :

The scene where Tasha asks Data if he is fully functional.

The scene where Wesley takes over the ship. ( Very much like when Ensign O'Rielly took over the ship in the TOS ep. : " The Naked Time. " )

The scene where Data replaces the control chips at super speed and says, " This will take slightly more time than we have left, sir. " to Commander Riker when he asks if Data can finish the task in time to save the ship.

The scenes with Picard and Dr. Crusher.

When Wesley figures out how to save the ship while still under the influence of the virus.

I like the part when Data and Tasha (probably) has sex, since it will mean more after the tragic events in "The Skin of Evil".

The Season 1 ep:s I like the most are "The Skin of Evil" and "Conspiracy", and the build-up for it. The Q ep:s are OK.

I guess I like Season 1 "for what it is", as people say. At least the series got better and better... Unlike, lets say "Voyager" which was good and even IMO but so even it didn't evolve, or "Smallville" which like the typical ST series is so-so during its 1st season and like too many TV-series gets crappy due to lack of ideas in its last season(s). Just don't get me started over "Lois and Clark"...

One thing I like with TNG is that in the lesser episodes, there is some detail that will build up into a story-line later on.

There is no Star Trek on Spike tv today and Sunday, but I did not watch Voyager all week, but did tape the episodes, so, I'll go over them as soon as I watch them.

And there are about 6 I need to watch this weekend....

And some random discourse to liven things up:

[quote="Battlefield"]You know, I've seen both the G1 and G3 cartoons, and thier are some things bothering me.
First off, If the Ponyland in G3 is the same Ponyland in G1, than where are all the ponies from G1?
Second, if the Spike in G3 is the same from G1, how did he come about sleeping for 1,000 years like in Princess Promenade?

[quote="PensivePine"]I think it's pretty much accepted that the Ponyville of G3 isn't related to the G1 Dream Valley/Paradise Estate.
There are those who consider G3 Spike to be a relative of G1 Spike, but personally I think that Spike is just a common name for dragons. It's short and businesslike. *considers rewriting a song from The Fantasticks*

[quote="MistyMoonlight"][quote="Battlefield"]First off, If the Ponyland in G3 is the same Ponyland in G1, than where are all the ponies from G1?

EXACTLY! *pounds fist on her desk* Hehe, that's pretty much the entire basis of my fanfic. I cover that stuff...not Spike though. Yet... :lookround:

(Wow, that was a pretty nerdy post of me. I hope SomethingAwful never visits this place.)

[quote="Battlefield"]Thanks. I can now breath a sigh of relief.

[quote="KalahariMeerkat"][quote="Battlefield"]You know, I've seen both the G1 and G3 cartoons, and thier are some things bothering me.

Probably the timelines in the movies are not supposed to be in a spefic human timeline. Such as 1800's, 1900's, 1970's, 1980's 1990's 2000's. and such.

[quote="Fyregryphoness"]The biggest mystery to me that I can't figure out is...if Hasbro has released so many baby ponies...how come they never show up in the cartoon? I guess Rarity was sort of a "baby" pony...but where are all the other little ones? Maybe they're off in daycare/school or something during the daytime? lol.
