Hey, I only mention it because I used to be that scruffy, once upon a time. Sadly, I was not invisible.

They showed him from Peter's veiwpoint: I expect that only an invisible person can see another invisible person.

Maybe the invisible guy has a pal who knows his secret, and the pal buys him food and cigarettes and stuff like that....

Since Peter was able to see him when Peter was invisible, I assume the man could also see himself.

Maybe the invisible guy figures that, since no one.. or, almost no one can see him, why bother keeping up with his personal grooming?

Yes, but would he cast a reflection that he could see? He could see his own hand, but could he see a reflection of that same hand?

The power-absorbing guy absorbed his power and, as such, was able to see him. Then Eccleston picked him up, slammed him into a telephone pole, and yelled, "You can see me? I'm invisible! No one can see me!" while the crowd looked on, confused.

perhaps its not lightbending invisibility but some sort of dimensional shift invisibility. And given the way people didn't notice their wallets or cell phone floating away I actually think he may be like that X-files episode where the guy was there but the human mind couldn't process him so just filled in the blank space he created in their sight with what was behind him.

We're assuming that it's all the time. I don't think that's necessarily the case.
I have a feeling that, unlike a majority of the other heroes (and unlike all the heroes Peter's met), the invisible guy has a good amount of control over his powers. In other words, he can turn them on and off. If Peter can figure out how the invisible man learned to control his powers, maybe he can too (and avoid asploding).

Claude, the invisible man, is said to take on the role as Peter's mentor, so I think we can presume that he has greater control over his powers than some of the others we've seen and more control than Peter's got.
Peter was able to see him because Peter's mimickry power works whenever he's in proximity to someone with powers. We can presume that since Peter could see Claude that Claude can see himself when he's invisible.
From what I've seen, at least to start out this half of the season, Peter feels he's the cause of the explosion in NYC and so he wants to find a way to get rid of his powers (so that he won't explode and destroy NY).

Peter must learn to control his powers, or NYC will asplode.
Unless we're being led down the wrong path in believing it is he that will asplode.... ?

That's the other thing I've considered. He has had dreams from someone else's point of view, so I think it's very possible it's not him but someone else. Also, we've never seen the nuclear guy during his dream, I believe.

BTW, Chewy...check out a movie called "Revenger's Tragedy"...it's a Jacobian-era revenge play, made into a movie, starring Chris Eccleston and Eddie Izzard. It fucking rocks, man...

He only had about one line during the ep, and he was yelling, so it was tough to discern if he faked an accent or not. It did sound like the usual Welsh thing though.

Follownig from these comments, my theory is that Peter's power is essentially super-empathy. He is able to take in aspects of others' personalities and if he happens to enounter other "supers," then he also can take on their powers.
In his "exploding man" dream, he's seeing things from the perspective of Ted Sprague intermingled with himself (because Peter has yet to learn to control and refine his powers).
From what I've read, the reason that Eccleston was only in the last scene of GODSEND is because he had trouble getting his work visa in order and so the filming schedule marched on before Xmas and he could only get there in time for one scene in this ep.

Spoilers Begin!
Okay, so, we meet Hiro's dad!
Claire found her birth mom.. and she controls fire!! And we shall soon see what her Pop can do!
Peter is pals with the invisible dude, played by Eccleston.
The Cop loses his job, and his wife is pregnant. I think that, since he is suspended for six months, he ought to consider becoming a private detective... He'd have a great edge, as he can tell if a suspect is lying to him or not.
Micha is outta control! Many bank ATM's have a cam at the ATM... and he can get into BIG trouble!
I hope Nikki can learn to control her power.
Just what is the guy's power, the one that came "Back " from the dead? Is his power that of controlling his body functions and to be able to appear dead? Must be...
I am REALLY looking forward to next week's episode.. the show just keeps getting better and better with each week!

That's Sylar, the guy who's been running around killing people and stealing powers. We've seen telekinesis out of him; Lord only knows what else he's capable of....

Sylar. He knows how to take things apart and see what makes them tick. He's been taking in others' powers.

I missed the first 10 minutes of it, but it didn't seem like I missed much. Other than Claire tracking down her mother, not a whole lot happened. Obviously it's a setup for something bigger.

My thoughts...
Tim Kring in this week's TV GUIDE says someone who's been there from the very beginning will die during Feb sweeps. I say it's Mrs. Bennet, Claire's adopted mom. She's become a rather useless character and we know from the previews that Sylar encounters her next week.
Also, Nathan is probably Claire's bio dad. It further brings them all together (keeping Tim Kring's dictum in mind that "everything is connected") and it further supports why Nathan did not want Peter going to Texas. Nathan's cheated on his wife before, so it's not unreasonable to see that he had an affair 17 years ago.

Your thoughts have merit, Jim, and I, too, agree with those possibilities as being correct.
Claire's age has now been established : She was adopted 14 years ago, and was 18 months old at the time of adoption. She's a sophomore in high school, and will be 16 in 6 months or so.

Also, I don't think that Nathan has been married that long, so by "affair" I met "anonymous sex."

Your penny...
Claire's mom started the fire, that much is obvious. I don't think Nathan will be her dad. Too far of a stretch. I'd much rather see it revealed that Mr. Bennet really is her dad.
I'm glad to see the police officer got back together with that CHEATING WHORE!
Yeah.
I was right about Peter needing the invisible guy to learn to control his powers. Just thought I should bring that up. Also, I just realized that Peter Petrelli is not too far from Peter Parker and that was probably intentional.
I still don't think it's Peter who explodes, but whatever the case I'm sure it'll be interesting, to say the least.
Oh, and I was wrong about Micah and his dad having to spring the energy guy out of jail. However, replace energy guy with Nikki and it still works. Ha! And maybe the police officer will be involved too, since that just makes sense...
Yeah.
