IIRC, the team that Apollo and Midnighter were a part of before the Authority (back in 'Stormwatch') was a group of characters based on JLA members. I remember the Green Lantern archetype was given the lantern from the character Randall Dowling dissected in PLANETARY #10. There were also archetypes of the Flash, Wondie, Black Canary, Aquaman, and probably the Martian Manhunter. As I recall, only Apollo and Midnighter survived whatever ordeal they were going through...
