Funny you should mention singers' politics since the Rainmakers were also considered somewhat unique in that they often put somewhat conservative (at least for rock music) messages in their songs:





The first of the two songs above, "Government Cheese" is about the debilitating effect of welfare, while the second "Drinking on the Job," is as close to an anti-drug message as an upbeat rock song usually gets.
