I have no interest in politics, and especially not politics in another country, but even I know G-Man hates Hillary.
Now thats all well and good, but as someone posting banners that are sposed to attract new posters, should he not show a bit more maturity when posting them?

All the other candidates have normal pictures, but once again we have the "Hillary shouting" type picture.

Seeing as Rob once stated that he would not give me frontpage powers because I might put something up that he would not want potential new people to be scared off by, should the current people not be held to the same rule?

While this board thrives on immaturity, we once again seem to be seeing Robs double standards come into play (as was seen recently with his demodding and name changing of Uschi).

And just for the record, I am not doing this just for the sake of bitching about G-Man, I'd actually like him to give a (semi) serious answer for why he cant just put his feelings aside when he posts banners.

Because it makes people like you turn into whiny little crybabies.

Which means you post more to whine.

Which means that Rob gets more hits to his site.

Which makes the Google payment center compensate Rob more for the ads they put here.

Which makes Rob more likely to keep the board going.

See....it's all part of my carefully constructed plan to keep myself in Rob's good graces through that simplest of motivating factors: money.

As far as why Rob doesn't give you frontpage power, I don't know. That's between you and him. I might guess, however, it's because a picture of a shouting Hillary (that appeared in mainstream newspapers all over the country) might be annoying to some of her supporters (but no more annoying than, say, dissing "Star Trek" or "Doctor Who" might be to their fans), but is not as universally recognized as offensive in the US as a "fuck off" or "cunt" graphic. But again, that's just a guess. I'm on record as saying I thought you should have frontpage power. I've also told you in the past that I'd be happy to put up frontpage banners you make.

How many monocles have I damaged when people saw banners with curse words, spouted "Well I never" then passed out from the excitement?

Oh woe is me, who have damaged so many potential new registered posters with my foul language!

Why wasn't I stopped before it was too late.

As I said, I'm all in favor in Nowie having frontpage powers. I was only speculating on what Rob meant when he turned him down.

I've been saying this for awhile. G-man uses the banners to promote his views, not to promote threads. He also has used the banners to attack individual posters.
It turns people off.

that wasn't an attack, that was a joke in good spirits. Kabul Zick was an attack though.
And you know that's what I was talking about. Seriously, G-man. Bookmark this thread and then the next time you wonder why no one likes you, you'll have an easy reference.

But the "Kabul Zick" banner (and I still think it's a little silly to treat that banner as serious either...I mean, really, Goldberg in a Robin suit jumping through a hoop held by Osama bin Laden in a Batman costume...do you really think I meant to imply that happened in real life?) is really the only example you've got of my "history" of "attacks" isn't it? Unless you want to include the rex banners which, let's face it, aren't offending anyone but rex (and his mom).

In any event, after Super Tuesday I don't plan on putting up any political banners for a while since the campaign won't be a "hot" story for a while. Hopefully something, anything, interesting will happen in the fields of comic books, media, wrestling, etc., in which case I can highlight that.

But rest assured the rex banners will keep on coming. ;\)

Yay yellow font.

And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

its not an invalid point. its clear gman likes politics and dislikes democats, so that takes up a good chunk of the frontpage images. it'd be great to see more variety outside of the political world, all together (and yeah, noting the frontpage gallery now, its really not that many political images, but there's clearly a theme.)

but, he is the one making them, and its not me, so thats great. i've never not posted a banner when sneaky or uschi or whomever sent one to me, either. bottom line, if you wanna see other shit, feel free to provide. g-man, i command you to work directly with nowhereman on this endeavor.

"Shithead" is one word. "Shit head" is two. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

They didn't always miss. It was just that the villains were very, very, good at parachuting out of a plane seconds before it exploded.

The front page banners? I'm not talking about thread titles. I'm talking about an old man's sad and twisted sense of humor. I'm talking about an old man putting his views upfront as the face of the boards when people log in. I'm talking about an old man who dominates the front page by posting his own lame banners to link to the threads he likes. I'm talking about an old, sad, old man.

Nah. It just goes to show the power of my argument is so compelling that even the most contrary poster on the board is swayed by my logic.

But we're talking politics now.

And in order to be an informed voter we have to read about the candidates' views, their 'scripts' as it were, in order to decide if we want to see their show for the next four years.

So, by criticizing Pariah, you are criticizing an informed electorate.

Why do you hate freedom, Ray? Is it something in the San Francisco water?

But the script represents the initial plan, not the actual result with the acting and FX. By only reading the scripts, you miss the fact that it's a movie which is meant to be seen and not read.

So you agree that there was no way for Bush to have predicted the war in Iraq would go badly, since all he had was the initial, written, plan?

After all, a war is meant to be seen and fought, not just read.

But back on topic: I'd honestly like to see some Nowhereman (and maybe more Jaburg) headlines.
